I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and management at Wray Common. We chose Wray Common after having considered a number of homes in the area. They agreed to take in my ailing father in the late stages of lung/prostate cancer for end of life care on very short notice due to a sudden deterioration in his condition. He was made comfortable and his medication carefully managed so that he ended his short stay with them and his days at peace. They liaised closely with St Catherine's Hospice and local doctors to deal with his symptoms/medication. There was a high level of nursing staff and ancillary staff present/involved at all times and they always showed care, compassion, politeness and respect to dad and his family. Melanie was fabulous and it was so good to know she was there, right from the first interview.They always asked if we were OK too. Although Wray Common may not look quite as modern/swish as some of the newer homes it is clear the level/quality of nursing and care is high and that is what matters most in a nursing home. Thank you Wray Common. (I have rated some aspect of the home as Good, as we did not necessarily experience them fully. The room is rated "good" as it was due to be refurbished - but the main thing is that dad was given a bed on short notice when he needed it most, so we were more than happy to accept it).
