Stayed for 2 nights as working in the area. Didn't spend much time at the hotel but the room was comfortable and clean. There is a nice atmosphere in the 'pub' and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I have stayed many times over the last few years and never had any complaints to make. The location is great particularly in the summer with black swans on the lake and a very pleasant are to sit and have a drink or a meal outside.
We used Worplesdon Place for a group room booking for our wedding in August 2022. The rooms were excellent and the staff were exceptionally helpful, even printing our speeches for us on the wedding morning. The feature room that the Bridal party used was incredibly spacious and perfect for them to prepare for the wedding day. We also had a private dining room for 30+ guests the night before the wedding, the food and service again were both superb. Would highly recommend. Thank you!
As a person with strong food allergies, I am cautious eating out. However I must shout out to Lorna and the chef at the Worplesdon, both of whom went over and above to make sure I was not only accommodated but had an excellent meal. Lorna made me feel welcome and not a pain as is the case in other places and I am very grateful. The food was hot, delicious and exceptional. THANK YOU
Comfortable, spacious and warm!! room. Great grounds behind included a lake! Friendly reception staff. Good value for money. Will use again when visiting the area. Rooms: Large, comfortable room #9 Nearby activities: Handy for Guildford as less than 20min to centre.
Good food. Spoiled by the older gentleman with an accent owner/manager? who felt it appropriate to belittle his staff within earshot of customers. Your staff know how to treat customers well. Let them do their job.
As someone that doesn’t like to complain this is a challenging review to write. So I’ll start with the positives, the grounds and the lake are beautiful, the night time bar staff are lovely too. Unfortunately the hotel was not acceptable for the 2 nights we stayed, the water didn’t work, there was mould in the shower and a long gap in the door which let light in in the mornings. The room was depressingly furnished with peeling wallpaper and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. If the price point wasn’t £110 a night I wouldn’t have these complaints but it was, and at that price comes certain standards which unfortunately were not met.
Beautiful location with friendly, accommodating staff and amazing food! The room was very comfortable with everything you could possibly need - coffee, snacks, water, TV etc’. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay! Highly recommend :Rooms: 5/5
Unfortunately, there were issues with the plumbing, we stayed in one of the annex rooms, so maybe this is different elsewhere in the main building. There was mould in the shower, the toilet was grim and the toilet brush was more so. No water came out of the cold tap in the sink, but if you left it on for a few minutes, it started to come through. The shower head was broken and full of limescale and after a couple of minutes into the shower, the water pressure reduced to a dribble. There's little noise insulation, so you can hear every move of guests in surrounding rooms, not ideal if you're a light sleeper. The hotel room door leads straight to outside and is cracked, so let's in light and cold! Also, noteworthy is there is no room service and the bar stops serving food at 9, so if you're checking in late, there's nothing to eat, except overpriced crisps and peanuts on the hospitality tray! On a positive, the grounds are lovely, lots of parking spaces available and the breakfast and service was good. I'm glad we only stayed one night though. Sorry Worplesdon Place, but improvements are needed to raise to an acceptable standard.
They are more than great! We've been their guests for 3 nights at the beginning of September and we've been treated not like a customer but as a friend. They ve been kind, compassionate and understanding as we had our furry child which he had a special medical condition. We can not recommend more and definitely we will be back. Thank you MEGAN and YOUR TEAM. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING
I only stayed one night but as soon as I left I already missed this place - It's quiet, it's calm and very friendly. I always felt like I had someone to turn to in case I had a problem during my stay and they were very eager to help me out with reserving taxis for me to get around. The room I was in was spacious, the bed was divine and the overall look with it's vintagey feel is just wonderful. I only had breakfast in house and the gentleman serving me was very attentive, quick and extremely polite. The food I had was also delicious. The main selling point of this place definitely is the setting though, it's in the middle of nowhere and that is brilliant. You are surrounded by greenery, shrubbery, a pond and chirping birds - it's magical. I can't wait to be back!
