A sanctuary to allow me to catch my breath and remind myself of the inner peacefulness within me. Love the friendly cafe staff and calming meditation classes here. The soup or the chef special in the icing on the cake for me! I am mentally and physically nurtured completely!
Kadampa are around the world we love meeting them when we travel. We are from France, we came in 2016 and we fell in love with this peacefull place ! This center is wonderful and powerfull. They offer lot of activities like teaching, lunch méditation kidsclass prayers weekend courses.etcetc... Since this time we try to come once a year to vist this beautiful place in the middle of Brighton city. Dont forget to try their lovely cake at the wordlpeacecafé.
A beautiful peaceful place to learn meditation. Everyone is so friendly and kind and the teachings and meditations are practical and easy to implement in daily life. Wonderful news that the Centre host their popular weekend course "Worrier to Warrior" at the end of March - and guests can stay for the first time since before the pandemic!
Very calm are in the middle of busy town. Peaceful garden and nice cafe with vegetarian and vet food available, as well as cakes and drinks.
Beautiful centre and collection of books
I love this place and have been going here for years. I went here in labour as it was the place of calm I needed to be just before having my daughter. 2 days later I took my daughter to meditation in my arms and took her to mum/baby meditation then kids meditation-can't get enough of the place. The negative review of the place..it seems as though this person needs to work on him/herself a lot and understand about how Buddhism can help to alleviate stress in the modern day. The Buddhist centre is a place of calm, not a business and not a place for lots of negativity and stress. Maybe Buddha has a way of deciding who should and shouldn't be welcome.
Have been going to Bodhisattva centre for courses for years and have always enjoyed staying in this little pocket of peace and harmony in the middle of Brighton with all its attractions. Have taken family to visit and they have loved the peaceful atmosphere and lovely cafe and gardens. Would recommend to anyone for a visit. For beginners the half day workshops are great.
Beautiful place, great teachers Susan Tait is my favourite and a wonderful experience to visit here!
Excellent place to learn how to meditate and gain understandings of Buddhist Philosophy which are so helpful in solving the problems of daily life. Great place to do a retreat with accommodation options, relaxed environment with two meditation rooms, world peace Cafe. The teachers are also so welcoming and receptive to everyone of all walks of life.
I recommend this place its large and airy..whereas the Titchborne Street Centre is often overcrowded. There always seems to be enough space. The rooms are like a proper Buddhist C and as part of the Western Order , in keeping. The charges are very fair because they are not a money making organization. You can take as much as you like from it or as little. There is no pressure to join in anything, if you don;t want to. The lecturers are funny and informative. Thought provoking and make an interesting contrast to the meditation itself. Of course meditation is repetitive by nature..and it takes times to get used to the experience and realize that it is always different..here you will find peace and silence in your soul though it may feel very hard to practice this in the physical body. The people who regularly go seem very calm and so it must work!! I need to go more often..
