Beautiful buildings, nice for a wedding reception but a note of caution… If you are considering making use of the dorm facilities, maybe think again. At first it may seem appealing to have accommodation onsite and at a very reasonable cost. However, the rooms are cold, the beds uncomfortable and the bathroom facilities poor. There were two separate toilets with no handwashing facilities. One bathroom with toilet, sink, bath and something that looked like an attempt at a shower but in reality was a shower head over the bath with a single on/off lever, the type of which is usually used for isolating the water supply. There was no soap for handwashing. It did leave me wondering how this is acceptable to students living there, having paid a fair sum for the privilege, perhaps it’s character building. In summary, it’s probably best arrange some other local accommodation, or possibly sleep in the car for a similar level of warmth and comfort.
This was a great place that I will never forgot and I was so lucky to learn at school here for the whole five years and there little I can complain about but I am giving this 3 stars as I feel like I know most others do that those five years meant nothing and we were just kicked out the door and forgotten and I know it’s due to virus but still something could be planned for us as everything we got told to wait for is gone and we got kicked out the door with the only bright part being a well done and meaningful goodbye from Talbot and it’s staff but other then is the place was good
Nice polite kids at the hustings tonight. It's great to see the younger generation getting involved with politics hopefully they will learn to not rely solely on MSM but to go research all topics before making up their minds, the country may then be in better hands in the future!
More than just a school, it’s a community which soon becomes apparent the moment you step through the door where traditional disciplines still exist. We have 3 children, Years 8, 10 & 12 who came up from Ranby House; we’ve had our first experience of GCSE’s at Worksop College achieving Grade 8 & 9’s are obviously delighted with the standard of teaching/learning opportunities. They embrace boarding life out of choice rather than necessity. We have musical talent & can only say that the tuition, mentoring, performance opportunities must be explored if music is your child’s thing. We have a netball player, Fitness/gym/hockey player & a cricket enthusiast who are very fortunate to have the privilege of some fantastic facilities. As parents we’re also happy that our children have remained together throughout their learning as it has catered for all 3! I felt I must leave a review, especially during this very strange time for us all, this period of LOCKDOWN to praise Worksop College Ranby House on how they’ve handled the whole process for our children. Interactive/on-line learning was successfully implemented from Day 1 and their structured learning in place up to our Easter Break at the end of March, our children returning full-flow straight back into their ‘new normal’ lessons, including music tuition, with great ease. The whole process during this unprecedented time has to be commended and as parents we are extremely grateful. We look forward to the day we’re all back to it!!
Our little girl swims here. The entrance road could do with lighting up and a path for walkers
Fantastic concert in the chapel by Voces8. Utterly sublime performance enhanced by glorious acoustics.
Grounds are impressive, school seems very clean and functional to deliver a modern education in an independent setting.
accommodation for year 7s and 8s is horrendous, hideous 60s council house style building, food is alright sometimes the best thing is the chocomilk in the machine
We played rugby game here because the club we were ment to play at was flooded.
the beds are uncomfy and the food is nasty but i mean i always wanted to go to hogwarts so
