No toilet facilities but free parking. Can pick up St Cuthbert's way here. If you're fit enough there are some lovely walks over the hills, it's possible to see the North Sea on a good day. As ever wear the right clothing and footwear for hill walking and use a map and compass if unfamiliar with the area. Adjacent to the car park is a short walk around a brook that feeds a small pond. The path is tarmac and designed to be suitable for wheelchairs, scooters and prawns. There are normally ducks on the pond and a variety of birds flying about and, if you're quite, you might just catch sight of a red squirrel. There are also some picnic tables, a couple with cut outs for wheelchairs, which is a nice touch and I'm sure is greatly appreciated by those who use them. There is also a small walled garden, with a bench, where you can sit quietly and contemplate your navel. A good time to sit here is when the 3 butterfly bushes are in flower, you'll be amazed by the quantity of butterflies! Worth a visit but use the bus station toilets first or you will have to pick a bush.

Beautiful in the snow and sunshine. Dogs both loved it.

Perfect this is lovely spot with an easy tarmac pathway for those who are less mobile. Picnic tables too. Very popular with dog walkers and families.
