My wife and me had to stay at Woodlands in 2014 after being made homeless through no fault of our own, our home was seriously damaged and unsafe to live in, we stayed at Woodlands for a around 12 weeks, this is a truly beautiful outstanding sight, at the time there were a number of changes going on from New Lodges being bought in to New Pitches being prepared, yes it was a bit of a building sight but it was cordoned off properly and safely, the New Chalets are amazing, clean and worthy of their location and price. At over £450.00 a week however, we had one of the older lodges which was not so good, it was in need of urgent work as it was damp, due to being about 60 years old and to be honest the Chalet was well pasted its best, waking up to the dawn chorus was a lovely experience, but the dam and internal running water left a bad impression in my mind, had we been given a nice clean dry lodge to stay in we would have purchased a New One and simply moved in and never moved away, so despite some light inconveniences the potential to live long term on site was a hard choice. So despite the negative comments the site at Woodlands has much improved and I am about to sign up for a New Chalet, we have no issues recommending Woodlands, bare in mind my experience was during the storms of 2014 and so much has changed since, spend a week there in March to April and listen to the birds singing at 8 am every morning it is something else, the early evening sunshine is also something else.

I made a booking for a chalet at the Woodlands and paid in full for the holiday. Unfortunately my mother became ill and I had to cancel the holiday. After speaking to the Woodlands staff I was informed that this was no problem, they would try to re-book my chalet to another holiday maker, failing that I could re-book my holiday for the next season instead. I thought what a great service. I tried to re-book my holiday the following season only to be told that I would have to pay the full price again. Not very impressed!

Building site moved out after 2 days. They're still taking bookings for tranquil relax g holidays avoid at all cost!

We recently stayed in a luxury lodge and it was exceptionally clean on arrival, with crisp white bedding. The grounds are beautifully maintained by the friendly grounds man, and all staff we met were welcoming and accomadating. If you want a quiet, relaxing break, where you switch your phone off and enjoy the scenery, then we would highly recommended a stay at Woodlands. There is also plenty to do locally if you want a trip out. We will definitely be returning!
