Wolds Wildlife Park is a wonderful place to visit. I know there are people who say places like this shouldn't exist but if you look closer at the work they do and the care they provide to the animals then it is clear this is an important establishment both in terms of bringing people up close and personal to animals but also with regard to animal preservation. Where else are you going to be able to get safely within 4 feet of a bear or a lion. However, you do need to be careful that you don't get sprayed with urine by the big cats!nIt was particularly beautiful to see baby wallabies being carried in their mothers' pouches. Also, it was great to see how much animals such as monkeys have in their enclosures to keep them occupied.nThe only thing I would like improved is the signage on the enclosures. A number of them have multiple sides but a sign on only one of them. Also it would be good to see the entrance area finished finally but I am all too aware that these things cost lots of money that is in short supply these days.nThere are a few places to buy food and drink and also now a big yurt in which to consume them.nThere is a small but excellent quality playground for children to play in. However, I could imagine it getting easily swamped in busy summer months.nThe toilets were incredibly well looked after. It is rare to see public toilets so clean and tidynI would happily visit here again when I can it is around 40 miles away and I would certainly encourage many others to do so. The more people visit, the more the animals can be looked after and improvements can be made.
This is a small, relatively new and very individual wildlife park with a surprising variety of animals. It is possible to cover everything comfortably in a half day.nAccess is fairly easy for wheelchairs and those with children in pushchairs. The very modern toilets include disabled access, though I did not inspect this, so cannot comment on how easy it would be to access it alone.nRefreshments are available and there is a small gift shop.nEveryone visiting will have their own favourite animals or birds but the white wallabies and their joeys must be among the most endearing.
First time visiting and we will definitely be returning!! My 4 year old autistic son had the time of his life! All the animals are well cared for and the staff can't do enough for you!! Food was great and so was the weather!! Thank you so much for having us!!
Great little place. So many animals to see including lions, tigers and bears. My mum doesn't walk very well and uses an aid. The ground was lovely and even and not too far to walk around it all. It took us around 2 hours to walk around it all at a steady pace and plenty for the kids to do. Reasonable prices for food. Perfect afternoon out at reasonable prices.
Went on an unplanned visit. Never been before, but live quite locally.nnFirst impressions on arriving, ample carparking, 1 single ticket desk, but it wasn't busy so no issue getting through. Staff in the ticket box very friendly, as we're all other staff in the park.nnWalking from the ticket office to the entrance, the area looked a bit untidy, scrap metal and such. But that soon changed once you entered. The park is really clean, with good footpaths all round.nnThere is a really nice collection of animals, from brown bears, wallabies, tigers, lions, leopards zebras, apaccas just to name a few. All animals looked well cared for and the enclosures were nice, although some were a little small compared to other parks.nnFood and drinks are available in the park, and there is plenty of seating areas. I spent a good few hours here in the sunshine, and managed to get quite a lot of nice pics..
