Story

Withybush General Hospital is a 311-bed district general hospital in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is one of four acute general hospitals operated by Hywel Dda Health Board.HistoryThe hospital was built between 1973–78 and officially opened 15 June 1979. A new Emergency and Urgent Care centre was opened in 2010.There were concerns about the hospital's long term prospects, leading to protests in 2010.In September 2014 a new renal dialysis unit run by Fresenius Medical Care Renal Services Ltd was opened at the hospital, with a contract to run for at least 7 years.As part of the reorganisation of acute services in Wales a 24/7 inpatient paediatric service will be provided at West Wales General Hospital from October 2014. Withybush will have a new 12-hour paediatric ambulatory care unit

All Nhs hospitals are under strain and restrictions of lack of funding in my opinion but the staff here do their very best with what they have. You cant fault them at all. The powers that be should be ashamed of themselves for taking away so many children services and maternity care being shunted so far away in camarthen added so much stress on a very difficult pregnancy for me in 2016. I fear for the future of this shrinking service but would never fault the lovely staff and professionalism given by 98% of them. Though we have been let down by some of the higher up doctors. I could name 2 very bad mannered and horrible ones I've dealt with in maternity and paediatrics!

This is a lovely Hospital with marvellous staff. The problem it has are all the cuts it has, and still is being subjected to. No Children's Dept after 5pm! You have to drive to Carmarthen if you have a sick child even when the child is on the children's ward! Maternity Services also problematic. A beautiful modern Hospital should be run better by the Welsh NHS!

Had to write a review about this hospital and Ambulance service to give my thanks for a fantastic service following my Aunt's fall while we were on holiday. All the staff were wonderful with special mention of the two staff from the plaster room who were so gentle and caring with my Aunt whilst fitting a brace to her severely fractured upper arm.

Staff and care are amazing. Got me back feeling like I can live life again. Seriously hurt after rta. On the mend now tho
