Not the best experience. After being out of the model scene for a while I returned to my local shop. What a disappointment. I'm now disabled and can't bent down but a majority of the kits are about 3" above the floor, others are on shelfs over 7 feet . I left and the guy behind the counter just waved and smirked at me. IF YOU WANT THE BEST MODEL SHOP NOW GO TO WIDNES
First visit was a great experience, picked up all the essentials to get me started on my first model in 40yrs. With some handy advise on selecting suitable items.
We went to "the waiting room" within the model shop.for afternoon tea. We 7 of us and a baby had a lovely time, and Carol the proprietor is lovely. All hand made cakes and scones, Sandwiches that were lovely and fresh. All washed down with unlimited hot drinks for £14. I would 100% recommend.
Very rude and unpleasant on the phone when i called up to enquire about stock, put the phone down quickly on me 4 times due to connection issues rather than waiting and giving me a chance to sort said issues out. Small shops like this wonder why larger retailers are hurting their business but with service like this lacking basic professionalism and politeness I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Very friendly. The scones were excellent. Harry the dog was delighted with his treat. Husband had to be dragged away from the models and Jack.
Fantastic cafe served us home made food fresh and great attentive service. It's half model shop half cafe and has a lovely vibe to the place. Model shop has a fantastic range of kits and accessories. Highly recommend this easily missed cafe/shop.
Called in with my cycling partner on Sunday afternoon for a pot of tea and a piece of blueberry spongecake. What a delight to visit here. The staff are absolutely lovely, the pot of tea was plenty large enough and brewed well, the iced blueberry spongecake was cut generously and tasted even better than it looked. The tea room is bright and airy, meticulously clean including the loo, and very comfortable. This was a delightful discovery and we shall be back. Thanks to everyone who keeps the standards so high.
Welcoming dog friendly café, homemade cakes, staff were very accommodating. Pupachino for your dog Aldo there is a model shop inside. Well worth a visit
A delight to visit with a warm welcome, a choice of beverages and good snacks in a railway carriage style setting. For boys young and old, some ladies too, this is a modellers paradise, with kits of sailing ships to cars and aircraft, plus everything for the railway modeller, mechanical and scenic. Lots of advice and encouragement too All this at less than a hundred yards from the sea shore.
Strange little place this. Has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it a model shop or a cafe? Nobody seems sure. Didn't use the cafe so can't comment on that. The model shop bit was okay but not as well stocked as some, and the choice was a little limited I felt. Still supplies everything you need though, and that's what matters.
