It's been a long time, and it's against all the odds, This was the only available chippy on the West End, Chips were decent, Fish was large and tasted alright. There was no beans available unfortunately this is the reason for the 4 stars and also there was rubbish outside the place.
Under New Management. They've done a cracking job of tidying the place up, much better now. The fish & chips was delicious! Clean, not oily, crispy batter and thick fish pieces. Highly recommended
Fish was freshly cooked but chips we were given were the worst Ive had in my life. Reheated, hard, green & black bits. Very sorry but for fish & chips should be better. :
The chips and fish was ok, however for me it's all about the sauce. Staff said that no 2 people will have the same taste buds but good chili sauce is great by everyone. The place seems to have undergone some extensive cleaning since my last visit.
It took an 1 hour and a half to arrive when there five mins away from me and my order was small , the man on phone was lovely though xx I found the fish was delicious nice and hot very homemade sadly the pizza was cold when it arrived, with an odd after taste when consumed cold . I wouldnt have a takeaway again but would definitely go back for a fish and chips if I were passing there very tasty
Bought fish and chips x2 the fish was made to order however the chips were old, hard, lukewarm and wrinkled absolute disgrace. Will never go again not even worh 1 star.
Since the business has changed hands the quality of the food has deterioted. Ordered Fish and chips, Fishcake & chips and Dinner in a bun. The chips and Donner were so old, that the kids could not eat and ended up throwing it away. Apart from the fish which was eatable everything has to be thrown in the bin. Don't waste your money on this so called traditional fish and chips shop. Look elsewhere ...
The mandem said it was good but I got an undercooked soggy piece of fish, swimming in the grease it was supposed to be cooked with. Chips were quality though. The mandem threatend us to never come back as we interrupted a drug deal, however wouldn't go back for the fish anyway.
I was on a first aid course next to Wingrove Chippy and as i did not take any food with me for my lunch i decided to buy pie and chips from here. Big big mistake! When I ordered my meal the first thing the person severing me did was sniff the first pie he pick up said something to another member of staff then throw it in the bin! He then sniffed the second pie, put it with my chips then covered it with salt and vinegar. When I got back to the training venue to eat my food I took a bite of the pie only to discover that this pie was off. It smelt very sweet and as you can imagine tasted rank. I bined the lot and went hungry for the rest if the day. By the time my course was over the chippy was shut so could not complain. If you value your health I would avoid this chippy like the plague!
Been here before but heard it had been taken over so decided to go for dinner. Was delicious. Cant recommend the masala fish and chips enough. Cooked fresh in front of you. Great service and Will 100% be returning.
