A hugely over-priced restaurant that serves some decent food not extraordinary tho in the middle of all England tennis club. As part of our visit to Wimbledon, we booked a lunch service at Wingfield, as it’s recommended as a nice experience from some blogger online. The lunch costed £90 + 12.5% service fee, which had to be paid in advance. So before our visit, we paid £209 already. For a meal at this price, I was expecting some extraordinary taste and creation. When checking the sample menu, I was expecting a 4-course meal. However, on the day of our visit, the food was just okay, definitely not in the top tier of restaurants I’ve been in London. Special mention to the chicken breast, it’s just way to salty. Also to our surprise, the meal is just a standard 3-course meal. The service was average too. When we arrived, nobody served us to the table. Instead we were told to find table #23 ourselves. During the entire course of meal, our wine was only filled once. This is why I don’t get the idea of paying service in advance Overall I think the price should be adjusted to £50-60 range for its special location a normal 3-course meal at a top-tier restaurant is roughly this price. Also, please let the customers to pay service after they receive the service. I don’t think I’ll pay this restaurant another visit ever again.
Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Wingfield. What better treat to break up 7 hours of tennis spectating. Everything fresh, substantial and tasty.
We had an underwhelming lunch here after a guided tour - a couple sandwiches and some hot drinks that were all slightly overpriced. We were hoping to try the strawberries and cream but they were not listed on the menu even though they were available at the register. We didn't see them before we filled up on lunch which was so mediocre that we decided to forego any dessert.
We went there for lunch before the math. The food was play, not amazing for the price. The wines that they offered were quite nice though. They do have gluten free bread if you ask. The rest of the menu was not very informative on the dietary requirement. It is Set menu but quite restricted with the choices.
Poor service, poor food . Arrived early ordered food , still unable to have choice of dessert .main course was very poor with very little on th plate Not god value ! Don’t bother
Spacious with various buffet options. The staff is very friendly. On the centre court and next to the museum.
The food is fresh and they have a variety of dishes, hot or cold. Drinks from Coffee to Wine. Pleasant atmosphere whether your dining inside or outside, depending on the weather. Staff are friendly and polite!
