I took 2 1970s watches into this shop to have leather straps fitted. I was told that the person who does that wasn't there, an assistant then took the 2 watches in the back without asking if it was ok if she did so, to fit the straps. I was nervous as it took about 5 minutes to do the job. The assistant brought the watches back out and the one strap wasn't flush, probably a bent pin !!?. They wanted £16 for the job which I refused to pay. So the pins pins were taken back out. Only when I got home I realized that the 2 watches had scratches on the lugs which were not there before. The assistant wasn't qualified in the first place, so I now have 2 damaged vintage watches.
