First time at the winding wheel this weekend. Great little venue and was plenty of leg room when seated. Fair bar prices and plenty of local bars around for a drink before
A charming, historic theatre and concert venue that oozes character. We enjoyed a hilarious comedy show with great views from the balcony. The bar is perfect for a pre-show drink, and it’s conveniently located just a short walk from the train station. Definitely worth a visit if you spot something that catches your eye!
Seats are very close together. You can't really move and are not very comfortable. All seats are on the same level. The views to the stage are good in most seats as the stage is higher up, although I did struggle to see as had a taller man in front of me. They serve drinks, snacks, etc. Before and during the interval. Overall, it was fine but not really like a proper theatre.
My very first visit,I wasn't sure what to expect.i chose the venue because I wanted to see E.L.O experience.i found it far easier to visit chesterfield .find a convenient carpark and a two minutes to walk there to winding wheel than my own city of Sheffield .the staff are friendly and helpful and I had a good time there enjoying the music
Very nice venue with friendly staff. Seen Kevin Keegan here with family and was a very enjoyable evening.
My partner and I went to see The Elo Experience at the Winding Wheel on June 11th 2023 originally the tickets were booked for March 31st 2023 but a member of the band became ill and they moved the date back until June. The Band were brilliant, they played most of my favourites and their interaction with the audience was great too. The staff here were so friendly and helpful and at one stage even joined in when we were all dancing. Well worth going to see a band or a show here.
Went to Disco for grown ups last night . Absolutely not worth 50 quid for two tickets .. Extremely loud I still cannot hear today .. Drinks were reasonably priced but no where to put them.. People were dancing holding their drinks and the floor was lethal ... Like a swimming pool .. Very dangerous .. I thought it was a live band but it was just a DJ .. who asked for requests and didn't play them.. I think I asked four times for the same song .. it was never played ... Will give it a miss next time
Wonder performance venue, it's not too big so you can easily see the stage from where you sit. Check the listing regularly as they have some surprising guests!
Good view from the top seating area. Just not a lot of space for the legs!
We went to see Killer Rhapsody and whilst they were good, they were extremely loud for the size of the room and the sound just banged into a noise. The second half was not as bad and you could then hear how good they were. Sometimes less is more.
