Offers very nice cruises up the lake. I've bought a ticket of the yellow cruise which included a train trip with an steam engine. 21 pound but worth while. They give a little explanation on board during the trip on the lake. The steam train was perfectly on time and was waiting when we arrived at lakeside. Dedicated people and at the station it was worth while go take the next train and have an hour to visit the engine shed and have a cup of tea with a piece of cake and the station.
Very nice beautiful place, with little cruises available or if you prefer, a train trip. Or you can have a quick visit to the Aquarium Lake a bit tiny!, or just enjoy the view. Be careful, the car park is Pay&Display...
We hired a battery powered boat for two hours, prebooked online, as the website it makes it easy to select a vacant slot !! A must do if visiting the lakes. Just rock up at the pier entrance 10 mins early, get fitted with your life jackets and you’re the captain of your ship!! The cute little boats are easy to manoeuvre, , have loads of space inside. I would highly recommend a two hour hire so you you can enjoy the full length and breadth and grandeur of the beautiful lake.
Enjoyable day out, Yellow cruise Lakeside to Bowness return with steam train ride. Boats were clean, on time and well organised. Delightful way to travel.
To be honest it's a quite long way if you are booking return tickets. Each route will take 40 minutes. Children's got bored. Stunning views.
We did the full lake tour today and we’re very impressed with all of the crew on the boats. Excellent way to see all of lake Windermere. What is brilliant is that you can get off at each of the piers and back on again at a later time note these stops must be booked when booking the full lake cruise
The lake Windermere cruise is a very relaxing excursion that departs from a few different destinations and they are Ambleside, Bowness, Brockhole, and Lakeside. It is an amazing cruise experience to explore the calm and serene lake. The cruise which I was on departs from Bowness Pier to Lakeside. At the Lakeside, there are several interesting sights available for sightseeing such as the Haverthwaite Railway, Lakes Aquarium, Lakeland Motor Museum, and more.
Great way to travel, food and bar available on board and a nice way to see the lake. Even better value when tickets are bought in combination with other activities in the area.
We had wanted to go on the large ferry, but this does not run as frequently as the smaller ones. It was a sunny day to ride out in the water, so we rode atop. I thought the information given about some of the houses was very informative. The crew were friendly and helpful. The ride was smooth and docking was completed with no bumpiness.
We spent a whole day sailing up and down on the various boats. Stopping at pubs for a pint
