Called for a visit on 17 October 2017. Delighted to find plenty of parking convenient to the local library and well signed. Good to see plenty of independent shops in the area. I noticed plenty of evidence of council action and improvements, always a delight to see. Understandably I was dismayed to see piles of leaves lying along the south pavement of High St. I do admit though, the wind had only arisen that morning and I wouldn't be surprised the council was unaware of developments. Leaves and water are a bad combination especially for the elderly. On the other hand Wincanton is an attractive town and one in which I'd be happy to reside. Please do all in your power to retain lots of 'town' shops as they provide a focal point for tourism. You've only to look at some neighbouring communities to assess the damage done by the demise of local business. Finally on leaving the town I noticed two quads spraying weedkiller along footpaths.
