A trip down memory lane I wish I hadn't taken! Ages to take order and then 30 mins+ to deliver food! Chocolate milk shake looked anaemic and tasted of caramel/coffee, was assured that it was choc milkshake! Don't make the same mistake that I did.
If I could put 0 stars I would. Watched staff put fingers in the freshly cooked chips and eat them while she thought no one was looking, then serve them minutes later! Tables are extremely dirty. Menus are riddled with germs and very sticky/dirty. Definitely not enough staff, and the staff they do have swear across the room and are very rude! I would seriously consider eating here before putting yourself at risk. Horrible horrible restaurant!!!
Decided to make a stop to Wimpy for breakfast instead of a usual café, their lunch menu I enjoy so I thought the breakfast would be of quality. Unfortunately this was not the case. After sitting down and deciding on ordering a "British Muffin" the waiter couldn't find it on his ordering system ?. He took the menus over to the cook where they discussed what it was! They didn't know how to construct an item on their own menu?! This muffin consists of a sausage patty, egg and cheese in a muffin like the McDonald's ones. Upon receiving my muffin I was surprised that we had received bacon instead of sausage, I heard the server and cook chatting behind about how it should have been sausage not bacon but I couldn't hear everything that was said. To top that off I was shocked to find that there was a tiny mould spore on the muffin top! I took the plate back up and explained that there was mould to which the cook replied "Okay I'll make you another one" no apology, nothing. As I was with my mum, who is disabled, I decided to not make a scene and upset her and ruin breakfast, as her items were fine. At the end, however, the server did apologise and explained that when the muffins were defrosted?! they all looked fine. I appreciate the apology from the server however I will not be returning for breakfast again. In short, their lunch items are wonderful and stuff are helpful and friendly, but the breakfast services need major improvement.
I'm really not sure. Burgers and chips were awesome but otherwise the place looks like it's closing soon. They had no ice cream machine so we're unable to serve half the menu looked like it had been broken for ages. Card machine broken or removed so cash only not acceptable for a restaurant these days and staff were middling in terms of service. For example we ordered a diet pepsi and a normal pepsi which were unceremoniously plonked on our table. When we asked which was which we were met with a shrug and comment "I didn't pour them so I don't know" and he walked off. Not ideal really.
Wimpy is always fresh and delicious but the staff in ROMFORD are fantastic. The last with black curly hair was so friendly and considerate to clean the table especially for us. She has great service skills. The waitress was new and didn't know the menu too well but didn't assume anything. She found out info from her colleagues to answer our queries. I loved my experience! I wish there was a Wimpy in my area
I usually pop in once every 4-5 months, but today's experience was appalling. As soon as we walked in we noticed stacked dirty plates on every table and no staff member bothered to take them away, no one brang us a menu - everyone had to get it themselves, and the food was horrific this time. They got my order wrong twice, I asked for a standard Cheeseburger without Tomato and was given a Baconburger with no lettuce instead... I complained and at first he said "it's just extra bacon don't worry", I told him I don't want it since I don't eat pork and instead of making me a fresh burger he simply scrapped the bacon off and still gave me a burger with no lettuce when I wanted lettuce. Also not everything on the menu was available which limited our choices. When I went to pay they tried to charge me £1.05 extra for a Baconburger I didn't even ask for, I told him I wasn't going to pay for it which somehow made things complicated since he couldn't change the amount I owed him. The reason of this complaint is the after-effects the food has had on me and a friend, it's given us an upset stomach and a sickly taste in our mouths. Unfortunately I can't bring myself to go back there ever again from what once was pretty decent food.
Awful experience, ordered 3 meals and 3 drinks.. 2 meals arrived and the 3 drinks. No cutlery and no third meal. Called waitress back over and got cutlery. 10 minutes later the third meal arrived. Young girl on the cashier desk looked miserable, no manners and definitely won't go there again.
What a shame. Ordered from here this morning through uber eats, they got our orders wrong, ordered a double patty/cheese burger X2 and both came with just 1 and no cheese and the one patty that was there was so sooo tiny i wouldnt even label it a burger. Called up to discuss the problem, first guy i spoke to said that they have another uber order soon and they could send the replacement meal with that ride, i asked if they could guarentee this so i know that i could chuck the orginal meal away and wait for the new one, he couldnt seem to give me a straight answer and passed the phone over to the chef where he said they couldnt deliver it with someone elses ride. But instead the next time we order we will get it for free?? This was not good enough, i explained that i wanted the issue resolved now and after this what makes you think im gunna order from here again?! Its just not a good way to handle a customer complaint at all. They said they could offer me a refund and will call me back.. 15 minutes later called back and said that they will now redo the order and send it out and will be with us in 30 minutes. That call ended at 11.45. At 12.50 i called back as i was upset that they have taken so long and at this point id rather use my money on a more reliable restaurant, the guy didnt seem to bothered on the phone at all and said to just go through uber eats for a refund. Im just shocked by the lack of customer care and service. Why are these people being hired when they clearly couldnt care less?? Its a damn shame to the once well known childhood restaurant thats now a big joke being run by clueless people.
I'm heavily pregnant and ordered burger with chips with left me with a bad tummy. Drinks where warm and flat. Manager shouting at waiting staff . Toilets dirty no tissue or soap. A long wait from ordering food to waiting to pay nothing like I remember
Wimpy was a great memory from my childhood so I thought I would take my son. Massive mistake got order wrong when it did come it was nasty burger was horrible no onions!! Then fella serving decides to swear about customers as I was waiting to pay right in front of my 3 year old. Awful attitude from the fella.
