Wilmslow High School

Story

Wilmslow High School is a mixed-sex 11–18 comprehensive secondary school in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and a designated Centre of Excellence. The school began in 1960 as a grammar school and gradually became a comprehensive school, becoming Wilmslow High School in 1991. Dr. James Pullé is the head teacher. The school is designated "good" by Ofsted.<ref name="11/13 Ofsted Report">Ofsted reportHistoryGrammar schoolWilmslow High School began life as the co-educational Wilmslow County Grammar School in September 1960 with 900 pupils. The new county grammar school was opened by Sir James Mountford, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liverpool on 24 March 1961. A girls' grammar school was built on 14acre of the former Colshaw Hall Farm, and situated on Dean Row Road. It opened in 1965 and had 750 girls. The school on Holly Road became an all-boys' school.ComprehensiveThe school changed name to Harefield County High School when it became a sixth form-entry comprehensive in 1978, gradually becoming more comprehensive. In the mid-1980s it became Wilmslow County High School, then Wilmslow High School in 1991. The school was designated as a specialist Sports College in September 2003, but the specialist schools programme ended in 2010 and therefore the school is no longer a Specialist Sports College.Other former schools in Wilmslow included Wilmslow County Secondary School for Girls on Wycliffe Avenue in Wilmslow. When the Wycliffe Avenue Secondary Modern School closed the girls moved to Thorngrove County High School, which was until that point the Hough Secondary Modern School for Boys, having previously opened in 1965 on Thorngrove Road – the land now occupied by the A34 bypass. The girls' grammar school became Dean Row High School and later all schools closed, leaving Wilmslow with one high school on the site of the original boys' grammar school.

I arrived at Wilmslow High Art Academy to find a large amount of rampant kids screaming at me and sticking pencils through the fence. Immediately three frail old men escorted me into the school, where I had to sit in a locked padded cell for approximately 4 hours against my will. Eventually I was freed from this terrible fate, only to be faced by the entire council of what appeared to be high school teachers: the three frail men I mentioned earlier, a woman with excessively large eyebrows, and another man wearing a light grey lab coat with curly hair covered in multiple colours of paint, even burnt at the ends in several places. These political party representatives tried to stuff my mind with "educational" codswallop. I took none of it - I refused to let these self-important beings brainwash me with their new programme to get the world to follow their orders as servants. Finally I was forced to leave as I was convinced to be unwelcome, despite my constant, fruitless attempts to contact the photography class and arrange an appointment beforehand. Overall I rate 2 out of 10. Would not go again.
So i finally secured my place in Wilmslow High School, I am very upset with what happened on my first day ! On my first day I arrived and walked into my new Form, My tutor was Ms Woodley, She thought that I was an unwanted child so i left. she sent me outside so i can stare at the maps of the world and read all about the trips displayed on the wall. After Form I went to my first 2 periods which went fine. Break was when it all went down . . . 2 students popped up in my face and screamed " SCRAP ME LEISURE " I reply with, im sorry, but i am not sure what you mean. I was upset by what they said. I reported them to ' Student ' but then a Head Of House said 'Snitches Get Stitches' and boxed me in the face. I died R I P
