Sensational cakes!!! You simply have to visit this gem of a place in the heart of Leigh. The choice and quality of the cakes is amazing. Staff very friendly. Spotlessly clean. Take a look!
Popped in to treat ourselves to some tasty desserts after finding this place on Instagram. The cafe itself was beautiful! Cute seating and wall decor and a lovely floral ceiling which was very pretty. The choice of desserts was very generous, and we took a fair while to decide! We opted for a Smarties pie and a Jam & Cream Blondie. Both were delicious, not too sweet or sickly, and we’d definitely return again to try something new next time we’re in the area.
Fantastic selection of freshly baked treats, as well as good coffee! All served up by polite, helpful and friendly staff. What's not to love?
Gemma was so great from start to finish when designing and ordering our wedding cake! Nothing was too much trouble, even all my questions : all of our guests love the look and taste! So so happy! If you are thinking about ordering a cake or even just going into their shops. DO! 100% recommend!!
An absolute must if you are in Leigh! The coffee and cakes are amazing! There is so much choice and some beautifully quirky flavours to choose from. The staff are always helpful and knowledgeable about the contents of the cakes etc.
I absolutely LOVE Wilma's!! Their cakes and treats are incredible and are simply the tastiest, you can see the amount of effort and care that goes into each cake, brownie, blondie and bonus points for their Lotus Latte's!! Getting a Wilma's is an absolute treat and Gemma and Will are angels I can't recommend this place enough! Especially because its a small business. Thank you guys for all the yummy treats
Wilmas is more than a bakery and cafe. Its genius concoctions of the most amazing brownies/cupcakes/blondies. It’s definitely the best, cafe in essex, if not the country. You will not find more indulgent delicious cakes anywhere else. They’re dog friendly and even do pup cakes which makes them even better. Visit them, you won’t regret it.
Stale cupcakes. Arrogant customers service. My wife recently purchased some cupcakes from Wilma's Bakery,they were stale,must have been in the shop for some days.She telephoned them just to advise them of the fact that they were stale, not for any compensation,they didn't want to know.The two people she spoke to and the person who called her back didn't want to hear this,all they kept saying was how good they were and how many good reviews they have.Sorry but sometimes things can go wrong and you should believe a customer when it does go wrong. Needless to say we will not be buying anything else from you
If the review was on cakes alone I would give 4/5 stars but unfortunately one member of staff really left a bitter taste for me. We were a larger group of people, when we walked in we asked if it was ok given there was quite a few of us and we were told that’s fine. However one young lady decided she would huff and roll her eyes when we sat down. Then when we ordered she was really rude to the member of the group ordering and we saw her roll her eyes and pull a face when she walked away. We then could also quite clearly see her in the back room talking about us to another member. No idea why us being there was such an issue, we spent money, were very polite and were not bothersome what so ever. Purely down to how uncomfortable this one girl made us feel I would not return.
Definitely my favourite place to visit in Leigh! The team are amazing, the drinks are to die for, and of course, the cakes are incredible. I always recommend Wilma's to visitors and none have ever been disappointed!
