We opened the doors to Willows Veterinary Centre in Boldon in January 2004 with the intention of providing quality care that focuses on treating pets as members of the family, which was much needed in the South Tyneside area.

The name Willows was carried due to the significance of the willow bark used for pain relief and to reduce inflammation, from as far back as 400BC.

In March 2006 we opened the second branch of Willows Veterinary Centre in South Shields. From a zero client base, we have built up our clientele to 13,500 due to the ethos embodied in a family run practice in both surgeries, delivering the best possible treatment to pets.

The willows were great to help our late cats mini, and l have recommended my friend who has a very sick Tom cat, name Bobby, and l hope she will bring him up this week, he has to have injections every month, my friend is afraid might lose him ,so what this surgery vet done for our late l trust this vet will do the same
Took the cat that adopted us to Willows in Stanhope Road yesterday evening 17th April for vaccination & microchipping and a general health check. First class service & clearly a genuine love of animals Many thanks to Sally Baker for her professionalism & care of our now officially owned cat. See you in 3 weeks for the next vaccination.
The best vets I’ve ever taken my fur babies to! I’ve moved a 25 minute drive away and still take my dog Sammy for monthly injections here because I couldn’t imagine taking her anywhere else. The team at Willows is incredible, they are so genuine and caring about the animals and their care is always of the highest standards. Highly recommended.
Excellent vets, I recently got a puppy who had initial vaccine with "Vangaurd" brand and was due second injection 2 weeks later. Hardly any vets do Vangaurd brand vaccine however Willows do, this saved me from having to start the vaccination process all over again. Had a 9am appointment and was in and out by 9.10am. Great vet who knew what she was doing and gave the puppy a health check when doing the vaccination. Highly reccomend.
Fully signed up affailte of 'Rip off Britain'. ..its not so much about the animals, more about the money. The boss must be reaching retirement age and just making sure he's set up. Not particularly good at dispensing either, gave a kitten an adult dose of flea treatment.... kittens eyes severely effected albeit briefly. Sorry, but once you sign up to ripping people off, you get both barrels, I won't tolerate it, or be back.
Amber the vet was just totally lovely with our dog Pixie today. First time we have met Amber but she was fantastic and clearly a massive animal lover.

After I took Izzy to be spayed the first time, the vet did not do it properly, and even her stitches were horrible. If possible through this review, I would like to thank the vet who did it properly the second time. The difference just in the stitches was night and day. She did a fantastic job. If I had know what it would be like, I'd not of bothered with the little body suit for her it only stayed on for a day anyway, no idea how she got out of that. Thank you to that second vet, you did a fantastic job and I thoroughly appreciate it.
Vet explained everything to me about my dog was very caring and knowledgeable. Advised on how to best care for her, she was outstanding and very genuine.
