Great Park with an interesting bit of history in the memorial building that stands proudly above Lancaster. A butterfly house. A mini zoo! Two great children's play areas. Lots of lovely forest walks and open spaces too! Oh a great cafe serving good food!
It was good to visit and had been meaning to go for a while with my son. We were near the area and the weather was good so we headed down. It's a nice park but does need to spend some money on the over 8's play area. Very basic climbing frames and just a zip line was all there was for him. I do like that the park is on multiple levels/hills which makes it different to many others I've been to. The small mammals section I don't feel is worth the extra money
Great park for a family walk. Car park size is OK. You can spend hours on walking around woodland walks, there is few playgrounds so kids will also enjoy, cafe, butterfly house and great coast view
Great family park, amazing views across to Morcambe Bay, Aston Memorial is beautiful and has lovely interior spaces, well worth a visit; also a cafe and a little waterfall feeding into a pond with fountain. Butterfly house was closed when I visited but it is in an Edwardian palm house and looks beautiful. Good parking and mainly accessible with a mobility scooter but there are steps up into the memorial.
Lovely place to visit for all ages including children and dog walkers. Beautiful gardens nature trails, butterfly house and the stunning Ashton Memorial which stands on the grounds of the old hanging gallows were some of the Pendle witches were hung 400 years ago.
Lovely park, well kept and clean. Plenty of space and play areas for the children. Take a look at the Aston Memorial while you're there. Loads of paths and walks to complete.
We came for the butterfly House which was nice. It was fairly small but in a beautiful greenhouse with friendly staff around. There was a really nice mini zoo with meerkats and other animals and creatures! There's a nice little café with fair prices and 2 playgrounds for the kids. Other than that there are stuffing walks and views. It was our first time at this park and we loved it. Definitely coming again.
Williamson Park remains a favourite quick walk about park with the impressive building and ponds. It was a little chilly this day and the big pond was mostly frozen. Some of the pathways were a little slippery, so would be a good idea to have some grippy shoes. It’s free to enter not much is today so look after this valuable assets to Lancaster. Plenty of space for kids to run and burn off energy. There is a butterfly centre and some small animal collection, but on this occasion the gardens were good enough for a quick walk.
It's an amazing place to hangout in a bright sunny day. People of all age would enjoy the place. Kids would especially love the the butterfly park along with small mammal park, reptile house and avian park.
Absolutely fantastic park in Lancaster! Including Ashton memorial which is brilliant and it really makes you say wow each time you see it! The park itself is fantastic and has something for everyone, lovely views over Lancaster, loads of walks, wildlife and fauna! There's places to sit, a little lake with ducks, loads of trees that are fantastic, places to birdwatch and take the dog, a cafe with a huge menu both food and drinks, a butterfly house. It's a place we visit everytime were in Lancaster without fail, add it to your list you won't be disappointed!
