Recently attended a funeral here. I must say that I was a little disappointed at how slightly grotty the grounds look close up - it used to be much better maintained. Part of the problem is how people have got it in their heads that leaving all sorts of plastic ornaments and balloons on and around graves is a good idea. The chapel is perfectly OK, and the area around it is very clean. It's just the grounds. And some of the graves bordering the road as you drive up are damaged - I can guess how that happened. But it is a tranquil place in spite of that.
Both my grandparents are cremated here and it’s the most tranquil and beautiful cemetery I ever visited.
One of the oldest and the best place for final rites. The scenery is beautiful overlooking Nottingham from a hill. God bless
Grandparents and uncle buried here. Visit when we can as we live on the IOW. Nice peaceful location.
Some of the grounds are in a poor way, rabbits tend to eat any flowers or plants general untidyness about the place, some parts of it are ok
A beautiful place to walk around
Can not fault the beautiful surroundings, and celebrant Peter Edson for his wonderful, fitting service for my mother. She would truly have appreciated the respect expressed. Thank you.
Always found staff helpful, polite and respectful. Grounds well maintained. Parking adequate, but occasionally need to walk a reasonable distance from the overflow car park. Seating inside whilst waiting and also under cover outside.
Peter Edson, celebrant needs to go to sensitivity class and learn that the funeral should be about the family and not him grandstanding. He told me to shorten my speech for my father to ONE page, he spoke for at least 15 minutes. Then he rings my family to tell them there was something inappropriate in my speech. This was me thanking 'my mum's generosity of spirit for including my half brothers into the family'. The brothers are not a secret, never have been and are known about by everyone. This upset my mum greatly and led to me not speaking at all during the funeral. When my family actually read the speech they said there was nothing offensive in it at all and my Dad would have loved it. So, Peter you have been the cause of family rift.
Went up yesterday with my dad to his sister grave at the top near the church was absolutely disgusted by the state of the grass you couldnt see the Graves the grass needs a good cut it's really upsetting to see it like this years alot of them are old graves up there but they still need to be made presentable wish I took a picture now
