For a few decades I’ve used this store, for major jobs and minor.nReason for this is it’s easier to park than other stores of this type and the trollies are easily accessible.nThe store is set up very well and unlike other stores they don’t tend to move items to other isles, leaving you searching for them.nI walk in knowing what section to walk to and get what I need. The isles are wide enough to navigate and not a hardship or ordeal to shop.nMy only gripes are that some staff over the years have been rude sometimes, a young man on the till dropped my items from heigh into a bag I was holding aggressively, to the point it jolted my shoulder each time… Also obviously there’s only two main tills, so when it’s busy in store, you’ll have to queue.nMany people also drive out the car park the wrong way instead of following the one way route, which isn’t the stores fault, just an observation.nOverall product wise I’ve never had any issues, so from my personal experience I recommend this store.
Hasn't the range or the 'presence' of B&Q for instance, seems aimed more towards the professional, rather than the home handyman. Limited choice. Great for the basics at average prices, if you are looking for cosmetic or or so called upmarket items, such as garden centres stock, go elsewhere

Good range of products, no more competitive than other DIY stores.nThe checkout needs sorting, as a long queue had to form at one checkout before help arrived.
Bought a Wickes impact drill on 3rd March 2025, used on a construction site and on 28th March it stops working. On 29th March 2025 at 8.30am goes to Wickes in Chatham to exchange for another, ok drill wasn’t clean however got accused by a Manager that it didn’t look a new drill, explained that it was used on heavy working construction site, he get a new one out and said this is how it should look, again I explained that it’s used on a heavy construction site and it stopped working on Friday. The manager accused me of pulling a fast one, so I said don’t like your attitude, your implying that I am trying to pull a fast one, told the manager he can keep the drill and I will assume I have lost £66 plus VAT and I shall not be buying any equipment made by Wickes
