For a few decades I’ve used this store, for major jobs and minor.nReason for this is it’s easier to park than other stores of this type and the trollies are easily accessible.nThe store is set up very well and unlike other stores they don’t tend to move items to other isles, leaving you searching for them.nI walk in knowing what section to walk to and get what I need. The isles are wide enough to navigate and not a hardship or ordeal to shop.nMy only gripes are that some staff over the years have been rude sometimes, a young man on the till dropped my items from up high into a bag I was holding aggressively, to the point it jolted my shoulder each time… Also obviously there’s only two main tills, so when it’s busy in store, you’ll have to queue.nMany people also drive out the car park the wrong way instead of following the one way route, which isn’t the stores fault, just an observation.nOverall product wise I’ve never had any issues, so from my personal experience I recommend this store.
Where do I start?nWent to Wickes and spent time with a bathroom designer. Picked out what we wanted and it was ordered for us.nGiven a date and a time scale of 2-3 weeks.nThe start date was delayed 7 times, over 2 weeks.nIt then took over 7 weeks to be finished. The sink was faulty so had to be replaced.nDamage to my ceiling, banister, door frame and hallway.nWickes have offered £400 as compensation when that doesn't even start to cover the cost to have the repair work done.nI have been ignored time after time. They do not get back to you when they say they will.nnAvoid Wickes at all costs!!
Order No - 397388.nnTo start off, I was advised by an experienced kitchen fitter to buy a Wickes kitchen because the quality was good. They were 100% correct, I built the base units and wall cupboards and it was a very positive experience as far as the build quality goes. Some issues with all the bits being present but I'll go into that later. They all came as flat pack and were generally easy to put together and were very solid. Wood was significantly thicker than the units they replaced. Well done for that.nNow installed the kitchen looks fantastic, we are very pleased. Well done for that.nLoving the interest free credit, who doesn't love IFC.nnBut there were a few problems.nnWe had to change the design 2 weeks before delivery as the design was incorrect and would have caused our extra tall wall unit to be fitted to low. fair enough these things happen, the Asian gentleman who sorted out the issue was superb and a credit to the store Didn't get his name.nnI had to attend the store on multiple occasions due to parts of the building kit being missing, screws lugs etc, nearly every unit had something missing. But more frustratingly the store does not stock these items, they were able to find the bits but still very frustrating and it is a 20 min drive to the store.nnI then had to return once everything was fitted as we were missing four caps from the inside of the doors. They were able to find some in store thankfully.nnOnce the kitchen had been installed we realised that we had two 129432 Sofia white cornice/pelmets left over, still in their plastic, I was going to throw them away and then noticed that we were charged £106 each!!! I tried to return these this morning and was told it was not possible, even for store credit. This is very frustrating having spent all that money on the kitchen. If anyone from Wickes can offer a solution I would be extremely grateful.
Wickes Chatham has no customer value, a man with ponny tail named Mike has no sense how to deal with customers. I will give zero star to customer dealing if i can.
So I bought a front door mat at the Maidstone Wickes and needed to return it - this Chatham branch is the nearest one to me so popped in here to face the most miserable guy on the till I have ever seen - Mark! Obviously looking for a reason to say no to the return.nnBear in mind this is a £6 product with all tags attached and bought a couple of days ago lol.nnHe then asks manager Carina about it as apparently they don’t stock it here and she says no I have to drive 10 miles back to the other store.nnI ask to speak to her and she accuses me of being rude for not understanding the difference between the two Wickes stores.nnEventually she agrees to take it back but goes off muttering to herself about calling the manager at Maidstone about it!! Issue being that I had asked there about being able to return locally and they had said yes no problem!!nnNever had such poor customer service in any shop EVER - and for a £6 product!!nnIf senior management at Wickes read this, these two staff are a terrible representation of your company.
