Derby store. Went in to buy some timber and was plesently surprised to find a red reduction price tag on the item I needed. However at checkout it was the regular price, asked them to check as there was a reduction price tag. Staff member came back and said no, so we both went so I could show them. Apparently it's an old tag that should have been removed. The offer finished 3 weeks ago. I found the member of staffs attitude very arrogant and they would not accept that although the price tag was on the next bay of timber it did relate to the item I purchased. They made me feel like I was in the wrong. There was plenty of other red reduced tags on other bays of timber which I also presume are 3 weeks out of date. The amount of times the staff must have walked up and down the Isles and none have been bothered to remove them in the last 3 weeks. Very slack and uninterested staff. B&Q and timber merchants from now on for me.

I highly recommend avoiding online orders with them, as they just can't seem to get it right. I’m currently out about £150, plus labour, for what should have been a simple laminate flooring job.nnThe in-store customer service is great, but trying to resolve issues over the phone or via email is incredibly frustrating. Around 20% of my order arrived with lines down one side, which is clearly a manufacturing defect see photos. After removing the affected boards—and damaging a few unaffected ones in the process—I spent months going back and forth with them. In the end, I had no choice but to order more at my own expense. To make matters worse, half of the replacement order arrived as engineered wood, which the in-store team couldn’t refund or exchange since it wasn't the item I originally ordered.

Got a parking charge notice as exceed the 90 mins in store even though I have put in my car reg in store. Steve was really kind to wave that off for me, even though I didn’t go ahead with their order. Thanks a lot for the kind gesture.

Visited to buy coat hooks. Quality and range of products was very poor. Counter-bored fascias not supplied with caps and the materials had a poor finish. Seems like the DIY shops are on a race to the bottom when it comes to coat hooks cheap and shoddy is the standard now. Staff friendly but a wasted journey, unfortunately.

We regularly use the Wicks in Sheffield which is great but this one is horrendous. Miserable staff who wouldn't let a disabled old lady use the toilet as they only allow children apparently. Will never return here.
