I’ve been using this store for the last 2.5 years, I usually bob between here and the B&Q down the road, depending on what I want.nDespite the two stores being in the sane genre they are like chalk and cheese! B&Q has a far bigger range in almost everything, but Wicks is usually quite a bit cheaper and sells most of the core DIY items you’ll need.nI’ve bought paint from here both Wicjs own brand and Dulux, again usually cheaper than elsewhere.nnI bought bathroom tiles for all walls and floor from here last year, a great price so made sense. Unfortunately the guy who did our bathroom made a mess of it, he had so many broken tiles I had to buy more - I’m not sure if it was him or the tiles to be honest but we ended up having it all ripped out and completely re-done. As I didn’t want the same issues I bought new tiles from elsewhere as recommended by the professional tiler we got in 2nd time around.nnAccess is good, car park on one level. Inside the kitchen and bathroom displays are on a mezzanine floor up steps, not sure if there is a lift. A toilet is also located on this floor.
Tracey was fantastic helping me use a gift card and ensuring all items were orders and helping guide me through the process. Fantastic service
The other customers were more helpful than the staff. Had to buy 4 20kg heavy bags of adhesive and then other bits not easy when you have a baby to cart around as well. The lady in there with short hair was miserable a smile wouldn't go a miss. She could see I needed assistance but didn't offer anything and just gorped instead. Thr store had another till to pay with two men stood there but then said they weren't open and to go to the other till. Perhaps stand somewhere else so people dont think you have a till open. Just a bad experience shan't be going back to this store.
*AVOID*nTerrible experience with a bathroom pricing, quoting and installation. I would recommend you avoid doing business with this store, company and Mike Hayes.nThere are better, cheaper and more competent companies and people.
Consistently a painful experience here, queue at the click and collect desk, then have to go to the till… need to return an item on that order, return to the other desk. Dismissive unhelpful staff.
