My family and I have been with Wickersley practice for 20+ years. We’ve had ups and downs but over the last couple of years I’ve seen a real positive change with very helpful and friendly front office staff, excellent supportive and personal medical help from practitioners where they really understand our needs and don’t just treat us as a ‘number’ and a quick and easy online service for booking appointments, taking the whole stress out of this first step. My wider family live around Rotherham and Sheffield and they certainly don’t receive this overall great service.
I've been at this practice just short of 2 years, and have had hit and miss experiences. The reception staff are either really nice, or completely undermining and dismissive. I have had one great Dr out of all who has made me feel heard with both me and my 2 children, which is Dr Reddy.nDespite 111 wanting me to make an appt, the receptionist dismissed everything and then when 111 made an appt for me they never called back.nI had a same day appt for my fevering, inconsolable 2 year old complaining of head pain and chest pain -- was told it was made for the drs across the road only to be told it was still at the normal drs. The Dr we saw practically had a diagnosis before we walked in, he looked at her ears briefly and barely her chest - told us it was an ear infection and gave us antibiotics. Barely a day later taken by ambulance to the hospital we are now staying overnight and her ears are perfectly clear and its an upper respiratory problem. She is struggling to breathe with every breath. It's one thing me being dismissed, but my 2 year old and previously my 6 month old is unbelievable.
Do not join this practice. You will die before being seen. Receptionists are rude and condescending and will lie to avoid giving out appointments. When you are ill the last thing you need is to have an argument to try and get better, but at this practice you will have an argument and still not be seen. Awful.
Been with this practice for 2 years. Always had positive experiences. They’ve taken care of me and my whole family very well with urgency when required and always with compassion and respect.
I have been with this practice for over 30 years. I always found it really good. You could ring the wickersley surgery and they were very good. Bent over backwards for you.nNow when you ring it goes straight to Clifton medical centre. I rang yesterday at 8am to make a appointment to see nurse. Was 49th in queue. So it says press 3 and you will stay in queue but get a ring back. One hour later get a callback from PHARMACY!!!! They were told to call me. It was about something completely different. I was told to ring doctor again to be put in a very long queue again. 40 minutes later they answer. Then put phone down. I'm absolutely fuming by now. So actually went to wickersley practice to sort something out. All I got was you can have a appointment Wednesday morning. No good to me. I'd rang early enough in morning. The phone system is absolutely shocking. I am now looking to change my doctor's after 30 years
