The staff here are friendly and helpful. This is predominantly book shop with stationary items. You can find almost all the office stationary items. Watch out for clearance section where you have good deals. This is has postal services attached where you can drop in couriers or letters. You also find here flasks, cute stickers and kiddy toys.
It’s not a bad store, but it seems like their is so much space their should be more items sold. The staff are friendly enough and the post office upstairs is very handy
WH Smith is basically a bookshop which also provides postal services and Travel money and so on. I like going to the clearance section to see what I can get for a lovely bargain. The staff here are very friendly, efficient and helpful. On Saturday I went to get travel money and the travel insurance for Bahrain and was informed that they didn't have Bahraini Dinars and would have to order it. The kind lady staff - Indu was very patient and helped me with the whole procedure . Great work . Thank you
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING I went into the store at 5:26 and the ‘security guard’ told me that they’re closed. I then proceeded to say that online says differently. He began to shake his hands around and showed me the sign outside the store. I then explained that I only have one parcel to return, there were still customers in store. He said that’s not my problem. I explained that there is not need to be rude. He told me to ‘go away’ and told me to ‘fuck off’. As I was walking away I swore back because I was outraged which I completely understand was wrong off me. I then saw a lady who worked there and I informed her of the situation. The security guy came running down the stairs and began to interrupt. She did not care at all, instead she said that I shouldn’t have swore back and that the security guard is an old security guard that they’ve known. I had asked the women and then man for their name but they didn’t want to tell me. The lady was also not wearing a name badge so again I couldn’t identify her by name. As I was leaving I did say that you are not listening to what I am saying, she left the store behind me shouting. I will be emailing HR and the security company the man is from.
Got a gift Anounced 9.99 half price in big letters . Go to pay and the woman said. Ups no more half price , l said well it says so in here Madam , she grabs it and say no more ! Obviously l got very upset to be treated this way . Totally uneducated and inefficient. The best way to loose a costumer !! But she didn’t care ! Saturday 22/10 17 pm . Nasty woman needs a new husband!
Really good store but real problems with the post office que, stood on it for 30 mins only to be told that for the shop there was no need to que. other than that not to bad
Poor security and post office staff who rudely turn away customers 15 minutes before closing time. Please teach them some manners rather than shouting at customers who assume the shop is open during the opening times. The times are clearly stated online and on the front of the shop, yet the goalposts seem to move based on the post office managers mood. 5 people should be able to be served in 15 minutes considering there are 3 machines and I am perfectly capable of using one.
I needed someone to scan a voucher which my relative won for some books. The middle aged lady with grey hair was rude and unhelpful and said ‘we don’t do em ere’, without bloody looking at the voucher. I went on the website, searched the branches that do accept the voucher it was a gift after completing a course I then showed her colleague who was young man, the middle aged lady with grey hair again proceeded to say ‘don’t do em ere’, to which her colleague the young man confirmed that they do. He was unable to enter the voucher and needed the store manager Edward to over ride it. The two colleagues were discussing saying he never is around and has been on break for a long time, they weren’t even aware if he was back in the store. The young man kindly went to find his manager Edward to complete the transaction for us. He came back and said Edward isn’t around and he does not know where he went. I find this very unprofessional of the store manager, I had to find another branch which was an inconvenience. I will never go back again. The young man did help, however the middle aged lady seemed to try fob me off, she didn’t even look at me whilst speaking
This is the worst customer-friendly shop I have come across in London. I would not have written a review if it had happened just once. But I had to face poor experience twice at this store. Sadly, I am still forced to walk through this shop because the Royal Mail operates on its first floor. First time, my wife and our 4-year-old son were standing in the Royal Mail queue on the first floor, while I was browsing through the books also on the first floor to buy a children's book for him. At this time, I received a call on my phone. So, I was browsing the books and feebly speaking on phone, while waiting for them to finish the Royal Mail business. Suddenly a security man came over and asked me if I was there to post something. Asking the person on the other phone to hold, I told the security man that my family is in the queue and I am waiting for them. He immediately asked me to leave the building, saying I can't be there due to Covid reasons because I am not standing in the queue. Since I was on a call, I left the building without arguing and waited outside until I finished the call. After the call, I went back inside the building and asked the security guy why did he ask me to leave. He repeated that I couldn't be there because of Covid restrictions. I told him I was buying books and I was a customer like anyone else. He had no answer and told me again that I have to leave the building. Second time, I wanted to buy an envelope from WH Smith ground floor, so that I can post it by Royal Mail on the first floor. It was written on one of the counters that individual envelopes are available behind the till. But when I asked for it at the till, this is the exact words a staff told me: “This is not a post office to give you envelopes. Take it from the counter and come back.” If they are so frustrated about a post office working upstairs, I don’t know why are they letting out their space or operating together? I went back to the counter clueless, hoping there would be loose envelopes somewhere, but I couldn’t find any. When I returned to tell the staff I couldn’t find it, there was nobody at the till. Thankfully, the same security officer from my first experience, came and gave an envelope from behind the till. He asked me to pay it using the self-check-out. Pathetic customer service overall. They don’t know how to treat the customers.
I visited Hounslow and requested Manager Mr Edward Thimpson for preorder of the book but he refused to accep preorder request and his attitude was very arrogant with worst customer service, he mentioned preorder doesnt exist and didnt listen to us at all. We had worst customer experience & will advise all of our friends living locally to stay away from this shop. Thanks Azhar Shabbir
