I purchased a gift card at this location only to realize that the card I purchased was swapped for another which had not been activated. After revisiting the store they were able to refund my money and I was able to get my money back however I will not be buying any gift cards from this location again due to the fact that my money was scammed.
My daughter is an adult and is autistic. She is very pleased when she feels comfortable to go into shops by herself . I arranged to meet her in Smiths in Staines a few minutes ago while I was in another shop. She likes to buy comics and when I went on to meet her she was upset as a member of staff had told her she shouldn’t look at the magazines if she wasn’t going to buy them . She was upset so I went to talk to him and explain her autism. . He said she threw them back and I said she would never do that because she wouldn’t . I remarked that perhaps he should up his autism training . I notice he is supposed to have been talked to after a previous incident . He was very aggressive and my daughter was upset- me too . Please can you ask him to show some respect to differently ablef people ? Thank you
Very friendly manager that greeted us, asked us if we was looking for anything specific. We graciously said we was just browsing. After noticing we were going to buy a limited edition star wars stamp set he said it was a good buy and politely showed us to the self service counter to save us time waiting in line. Great store and very friendly staff. Well done guys even though it was horrid weather outside.
A store on two floors. The Post Office section is handy, but can have long queues. The self-checkout tills in the main shop are useful and the maze of sweets before the tills has been reduced in size.
This is a really good shop at the high street. a very good selection of stationery and books - academic and otherwise. The post office branch at the back of the shop is also very handy. Friendly staff and located in a great atmosphere.
It sells books, magazines, cards, stationary, pens, pencils, newspapers, drinks, sweets, chocolate. But I guess you all knew that already. This is a typical example of the shop and if you require any of the above you will not be disappointed. However, if you want to buy catfood, for instance, you wouldn't go here.
A very complete and stocked magazine/book/ supplies store in Staines High Street. There are all sorts of publications and they even have a puzzle and game shop. Definitely the place to go if your subscription to a publication has expired
Staff are polite and store looks well organised Good veriety of products including pens pads and folders . Ideally the best place for students or office professional people . Also there is a post office inside which is a credit if you would like to cash up your checqhe or send a letter As velantine is coming store is selling a really good selections of cards and sweets for the live once
I don't like shopping in this branch of W.H Smith's and only ever use it if I'm in Staines and need a Post Office. The place is neglected, dirty, dusty and generally run down. They have POS signs stuck to the wall with brown parcel tape, there is parcel tape holding bits of ancient carpet to the floor. What Does it really take to present a shop neatly and to dust the shop from time to time. I worked in retail management for over 15 years and would NOT accept the presentation that is shown at this store I am VERY surprised they are still trading in this condition. Sorry to be blunt but it's the truth.
Efficient post office at the back of the staines, branch. Other than that, I don't see how they manage to stay in business, I literally buy nothing from them, but the shop has been there years, so respect for that.
