I got a letter from my GP to go to this place for an X-Ray. They checked me in and then another lady did her own diagnosis. She refused me the X-Ray I was sent with a letter for. I was told I would have to call my GP and get them to book me an appointment for X-Ray. I thought the letter was as good as that but apparently it does not mean beans. I called my GP while there and asked to be booked. She was unaware that they needed to book and was going to get in touch with the manager. It would take 2 hrs of waiting to know whether or not the manager would let me get an X-Ray. No guaranties or anything. Meanwhile I am sitting on a porch area so I can get a phone signal and it is cold and raining I told the surgery thank you for all they had done but to please take this clinic off of their referral roster as it is not A: close for people in Chesterfield and B: They over rule whatever your surgery says. *On a side note my physio will not see me again without this X-Ray being done. I had 2 doctors tell me I needed it and one lady was able to say I could not get it. Do not waste your time going here. You will leave with high blood pressure and nothing done that needs to be done for you. Worst I have ever seen!
Everytime I go they get worse. I told one of the nurses I disagreed with her diagnosis she started raising her voice at me and following me when I said this lady is not acting professional another nurse started shouting for all the patients to hear, they then went on to talk about me so loudly the whole reception could here my medical history.
Lovely local Hospital. Had a few minor injures and used this hospital previously. It even looked after the birth of my daughter when it had the maternity unit back in 2004. The staff are attentive, caring and friendly regardless of how busy they can be. It just gets better! Had to go into non emergency for an infected leg from a bite under orders from the wife, you expect to wait a while but within 5mins I was seen by two lovely nurses whom checked my leg cleaned it up, gave me some anti-biotics and sent me on my way all within a 20mins of turning up. The people here are lovely, the service is fast and caring.
Treatment by my now favourite nurse was delivered with clear and understandable information covering my concerns and relevant areas of my health problem. This same young lady treated me approx 2years previously for a very to me serious concern of developing blood poisoning, quickly diagnosed and appropriate treatment, and good outcome. Today,s meeting was also reassuring and repeated emphasis on the way forward with my health problem was delivered with a very kind and considerate manner, my cincere thank you to the nurse, and like the rest of patients treated by our n h s we are all so grateful for them.
Following a fall at school my 5 year old was complaining he'd 'broken his arm'. On arrival at Whitworth, we received a friendly welcome from reception staff, by the time we'd been to the loo it was time to be seen by a nurse. Excellent service and a real credit to our NHS. Saved us attempting to contact out gp or using A&E unnecessarily. My child just has a sprain so we're all relieved. Thank you.
I was taken to Whitworth Hospital on the afternoon of the 27th of July 2022 following a fall in the road. The staff at this hospital were very kind and very helpful. After various tests I was found to have concussion and it was felt a visit to a bigger Hospital was necessary for a Head Scan. The receptionist on the front desk was amazing and took the trouble to find out which of the hospitals would have the shortest queue and shortest waiting times,. She even worked out for us which would be the best journey from the Hospital back to our Holiday Cottage. I am sorry I do not know her name but what an asset to the hospital she undoubtably is. Thank You
Greeted by Staff member behind the Reception who's attitude was disgusting. Yes, we had got the process wrong, not knowing any different, and turning up with chest pains rather than waste time waiting for an ambulance. We felt extremely uncomfortable which did not help my situation and to top it off the Staff member who prepared my notes ready for an ECG actually sighed like i was causing her unecessary work, but the Staff member who processed the actual ECG was really nice so 5 stars for you and only 1 for the other two who need to reflect how they treat people who are already in distress
All previous walk-in visits have been excellent, but it now appears that you need to make an appointment: a little strange for an 'urgent treatment ' centre.
The podiatry nurses were very rude and unprofessional. On my most recent visits they were unwelcoming and complained about having to see me, as according to budget cuts I'm not a high risk patient. I found their manner to be uncaring, odd and unhelpful... As the only NHS service that I occasionally use due to a foot shape deformity, I felt the need to write this review. The podiatry service at Limegrove Road, Matlock, was noticably much better and its a big shame that it had to move to the Whitworth!
Took my 6 year old daughter with an injured foot on a Saturday evening and everyone was so kind and helpful. I called ahead to check how busy it might be and the receptionist Tammy I think? was really helpful. We hardly had to wait at all and were looked after really well by the nurses Fiona and Melody. They were very kind to my daughter and dressed her wound so much better than I could have done. We are so lucky to have the Whitworth nearby for times like this, thank you.
