I was going away so needed to post a small parcel this morning before leaving. Finding my local St Martins post office closed this morning, I went online to find my nearest open office. Whittington was open so I drove the 6 miles there with my parcel. I waited in the queue and the postmaster said ‘last delivery has gone so you can’t leave that here’ no apology nothing! I stayed that it wasn’t closing time and I didn’t mind it not going until Monday, but he just said ‘it can’t stay here’ and turned to next customer. I had to drive several miles more to leave it with a friend for Monday posting. My local office would never be so rude and simply inform you that it had missed last post but they’d put it in for Monday. I found this man incredibly rude and have just heard that he has done the same to other customers. Surely if a post office is open then it’s open to all services.

Combined Post Office and Village Shop. The only shop in town. Decent range of stock and open all hours.
