Small and excellent museum focussing on the diving, boatbuilding and railway history of the town.

Very interesting, from steam rail to oyster fishing

Excellent well curated and friendly museum.

Fantastic little museum. Brilliant hands-on activities for children, identifying artifacts by holding them. The centrepieces of the museum are an old horse-drawn fire engine, and the Invicta, one of the first ever steam trains. Also has lots of local fossils, including teeth and tusks from mammoths! Well worth a visit.

Excellent social history museum with lots to see and displays regularly change. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are happy to bring items from the store and tell the story of the artefacts. Invicta, the world's oldest steam powered scheduled passenger engine is there to see and touch. Free entry for residents. Well recommended.
