A lovely visit to Whitmuir today. I have been wanting to visit for a while and was not disappointed. The cafe is really pleasant and comfortable and we had a lovely seat by the wood burner. We were impressed with the menu selection as even though it was small there was plenty to tempt us. We decided on the steak ciabatta which was the days special. It was packed with lovely tender steak and the mustard mayonnaise was delicious. After lunch we had a browse around the gift shop which has a wonderful range of tempting gifts and cards. The highlight for me was Junk Shop Antiques, the shop has a fantastic range for all tastes and many beautiful items. We chose a lovely framed print. I would recommend a trip to Whitfield and the surrounding countryside makes it a pleasant drive. Kid-friendliness: There was a lovely area for children to play.
Delicious baked goods, the sponge cake was very nice. The chicken with lemon mayo bagel was really tasty, I'll be coming back! Well -priced and a nice atmosphere
Whitmuir does something most other places don't - a really good, adventurous salad. Combined with great coffee and a log burner, I'm happy!
Looked lovely but sadly not doggy friendly in the cafe other than the opportunity to eat outside with your pooch! Disappointed after driving all the way there! Will try again when the weather is warmer possibly!
