The reason for the three score is if you are going via the app for historic Scotland and doing the Mary Queen of Scots tour there isn't any information about why she went there. But the staff was friendly and helpful, and there is a iron roundhouse just opposite.
Really interesting and well thought out. The tour of the round house is a must. I wasn’t in the mood for museums that day but got dragged out by family and I’m glad I did!
Celtic cross exhibition- really interesting museum. Priory ruins, good shop and tea room. What more could you ask.
Excellent site with lots of history and stone carvings... Nice small church with an interesting crypt... Bigger than first appears

Quiet, serene and beautiful Whithorn is slow and picturesque, a lovely place to be.
Museum was closed when I visited ,enjoyed walk round grounds
If you like the history of the lands and people of England and how it was moulded by invaders of old this is place to visit.
