Visited this beach back in January, and while it was freezing, with a very cold wind, it was absolutely worth it to see the sunset. Due to the weather we were some of the only people on the beach, but I can imagine it being packed in the summer as it is beautiful. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
This has to be one of the most westerly beaches in Wales, spectacularly set overlooking the top of Ramsey Sound, with many outlying rock stacks and islands to attract the eye. The sand remains dry at most stages of the tide, which is unusual on a coast mainly known for wet, fully tidal beaches. The water is crystal clear and excellent for a cooling dip. Access by the coast path, or directly on the road from St David’s. The Flecsi bus runs here in the summer months.
Lovely beach with a café and Ice cream van. Large expanse of sand with a small rock pooling area at low tide. Large car park that's £5 for the day. Life guards on duty so swim between the flags or get told off.
Great accessible car par. Paid £4. Clean beach and water. Little cafe but closed when we were peckish but found snacks in the car. Good walk path to reach cliff side Amazing views of the sea, great sunset. Watched surfers and some swimmers. Will be sure to return soon
Some rather unique turquoise rocks only visible at low tide. Head left as you look towards the sea. Careful of tide it comes in quick and will cut you off with little chance of escape.
Wonderful and magical place. Our dog was thrilled with a lot of freedom and dog friendly beach. The beach has spacious car park, where you can sit and enjoy the sunset if you are lazy enough to go out.
First visit summer 1957, latest visit July 2020. The sand seems somewhat deeper, the sea anemones in the rock pools seem to have disappeared while the lifeguards and the endless azure sky remain. Otherwise nothing, almost nothing has noticeably changed, the lazy still plonk themselves where they first touch sand, never fully exploring what has to be one of the finest beaches in the world. Now a COMPLAINT. Dogs on beaches have to be one of the most unhygienic things one can imagine. You would not allow a dog in a child's sand pit, for heaven's sake why on a beach. No amount of 'picking up' clears the filth, if you doubt that take a look at any path to see the skid marks that inevitably remain, as for the urine, well that remains where it is deposited.
Got here about 15:00 and the council car park attendant was still asking for £5 to park. I declined and parked up the road in the small caravan park as we weren’t staying the day as it was 15:00 and raining had a walk along the beach and left. Beach is lovely but better when the sun is shining they should have a pay and display where people can pay for small amounts rather than the day! We have been to 4 places already and would cost a fortune as we don’t stay a full day in each place in this weather!
The beach is average compared to other beaches in the area. It's also overcrowded most of the times. However if you do walk around nearby cliffs, you are definitely going to see some of great views of the sea.
Excellent no-frills beach. Decent break when conditions are right. RNLI Lifeguards through the summer and a surf lifesaving club.
