This place has made a few major changes since we last went in and i must say they are for the better. Food was very well presented and was worth the wait . The staff also seem more attentive then usual. Tables are already set out ready so no waiting for them to be cleaned. There is also the new menu which is still very reasonably priced.

Visited for the 1st time today. Food was excellent and didn't take long to arrive. The environment was clean but some members of my group found it to be a bit cold. What really let the place down however, was the service. The waitress said she'd come back and take our order for desserts after we'd finished our mains, but no one turned up. We waited until we got frustrated. Went to the bar to pay and there was just 1 chap behind the bar serving drinks, taking food orders and taking payments with a big queue. From finishing the meal, it took a further 20 minutes just to pay and get out of the place. Very disappointing, because the food was genuinely nice.

A large pub geared towards meals with a family approach including a small indoor kids' activity area and an outdoor play area. Two For One offer on main meals but I felt the meals were slightly more expensive for one so it isn't as good value as it appears. Staff were friendly. Only our children ate and the kids' meals were as you'd expect from any decent food chain pub/restaurant.

The service was slow despite pre-ordering all the meals the day before. The starters and main courses were nice. There's a nice looking selection of desserts available that I would like to try.

An average pub restaurant, reasonably priced, not 'home cooking', more out of the freezer and heat it up type cuisine for the meals we had. The carvery looked better for those that can eat this. If I eat here again, I will aim at the fresh vegetables from the carvery. I would love to teach some pubs how to cook some lovely vegetarian dishes...vegetable lasagne is so boring! And for someone with an allergy..no pasta. The staff were friendly..a Sunday they were busy. Crockery was not removed from table after each course as there were 8 of us the table was cluttered, difficult as two of our party were autistic & cope better if all is neat. Handy if visiting White Post farm, Wheelgate which are just off the same round about and Lockwell Hill Activity Centre which is 5 minutes up the A614 on the next roundabout heading towards Ollerton & the A617 to Newark..This pub had a small outdoor play area for young children, that appeared secured by fencing.
