Simply incredible. The roast is the best in Somerset bar none. My parents have driven an hour here twice to join me now! Highly recommended. Friendly staff, perfect service, lovely beer and wine. 5 star My pooch was welcome too. Keep up the good work Richard and Rebecca
A gastro pub serving amazing food. We had belly pork which was really tasty, masterchef territory. Chicken breast and hake and chips, both done to perfection. Veg and potatoes very good. Portions generous, too. Can't comment on the beer but the scrumpy cider was good. Nice Chilean merlot too. Desserts excellent, especially the chocolate terrine. Dog friendly with attentive and friendly staff and prompt service. Only 5 parking places but it's possible to park on the narrow lane nearby at a pinch.
We were staying a short walk from here, the food here was very nice and the staff were friendly. I would definitely recommend. Also maybe worth booking, I think we were lucky as it was quite busy
The best food around! The loveliest pub and amazing customer service.
A very welcoming return visit, to a really good gastro pub. The food is outstanding, the lovage veloute with smoked eel probably the best soup ever tasted, as smooth and rich as could be created. Chicken with a Middle Eastern stuffing and hispi cabbage perfect. The burger as always rich with the flavours of the grill, the triple cooked chips crispy as can be outside soft and smooth inside. The whole finished with a lemon posset topped with granola and strawberries. The menu changes frequently, so what we enjoyed may not be on for your visit, but whatever is will be wonderful. As much as can be sourced locally. What's not to like. Booking is essential and a visit not to be missed. All the right precautions are in place.
Another delicious and more than ample Sunday lunch with wonderful friends. Cheerful, friendly and speedy service from the White Horse team once again. Highly recommended.
Really lovely food! Absolutely loved the Devon chicken breast, especially the caramelized onions. Really like the desserts. They're sorbet the apple crumble and the vanilla ice cream with chocolate. Also really recommend the seafood. The atmosphere is incredible. I really felt at home. The service as well, just brilliant. If I was ever driving past here again I would definitely come.
Really good food and simple varied menu. Reasonably priced. Good service and overall highly recommended
Came in on a Wednesday for a bite to eat. Friendly staff: I spoke to a very pleasant woman who I think was the owner. Just had a light bite, fish butty and chips. That description does it no justice though, it was so much more than that. Home baked brioche bun made all the difference, and beautiful chips that were more like roast potatoes! Proper Chunky and I think double or triple cooked. So tasty! Beautiful decor, very traditional and keeping with the building. Worth a visit for sure. As a pub manager myself, I know what to look for and this really ticked all the boxes. I will return again soon. Last note: Well kept beer. Fussy ale drinker here and could not fault it at all.
Best food I've had in a while also really friendly staff ! Nice atmosphere
