Second time we’ve been here and it was as good as I remembered. Every dish we ordered was amazing, fresh and well presented. Great atmosphere in the pub and lovely staff.
I loved atmosphere and the food they serve. Chef was exceptional on that day and the waitress also very kind and professional . Bit expensive but worth money
Best food I've ever tasted. Beautifully presented. Amazing service. Look forward to going back again
I have been lucky enough to eat here several times and it is the best kept secret in the area. The food is always exceptional with fresh products and an ever changing menu to represent what is not only seasonal but fresh and excellent at that moment in time. The service is very good with very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. I suspect if this place was in a more populated area it would be overrun but tucked away in the valley it manages to strike a perfect balance.
Such a cosy restaurant with lovely atmosphere and great food. Some of the food could have done with a bit more seasoning in my opinion mainly the duck dish but it was a fantastic meal nonetheless and I will be returning again at some point.
We have been to the White Horse many times but sadly on this occasion were disappointed .We went in a party of seven for a family get together .We requested two vegetarian roast dinners which we told they don't do. As I eat fish I ordered halibut. My daughter who is a vegetarian was then left with no choice but to have the goats cheese and asparagus risotto .The only thing on the menu she could have . It arrived and was what we all considered to be a small starter portion in a dish but cost £21 .My daughter who never complains wasn't happy so we sent it back as we were told they would do a' fresh one '. This came on a flat plate but really not much bigger at all which we pointed out but nothing was done . The others in the party had large roast dinners with lots of veg, yorkshire pudding ,meat etc. and all enjoyed their food . I thought on payment my daughter's bill may have been adjusted for the time she sat at the table with no food in front of her .They didn't .We were very disappointed with the customer service .
What an utter gem of a place we were recommended. It's hidden in the middle of the countryside, but go grab your car keys and make the effort to go book a visit here. The service is utterly superb, friendly and utterly in keeping with the atmosphere in the restaurant. The food is superb and the menu changes accordingly with what ingredients are available locally for the chef/s to use. The use of small plates for the menu is a far better way to eat enabling you to sample and appreciate the variety of delicious food options to choose from. Can't recommend The White Horse enough.
Such a welcoming and cosy atmosphere, fantastic service from a lovely young lady - and flavours to absolutely die for. My friend said it was the best steak tartare he had ever tasted, and we were equally impressed with the taste and quality of our other plates. A beautiful experience and hope to return soon. Congratulations to the chef also . Top quality nosh
One of the best puddings I've had anywhere! The chocolate truffle was truly lovely, and the cheesecake was very nice, but then our main courses were a cut above too, much better than average and in a nice cosy environment with good service. Well done White Horse!
Disappointment. We read the reviews online and thought it would be nice to stop off on the way home to Staffordshire, leaving the air show In Rhyl. We were travelling on our motorbike. We asked if there was a table free, as we turned up ‘on spec’ at 6.15pm. Although the place was deserted, we were offered a table outside, saying there were no tables available being all pre booked. Which we accepted. We waited 10-15 minutes before I had to go back in to ask for the menus. The nice young lad came out with them and explained the menu to us and we perused and waited again. Another 15 minutes passed and we had no service, though three other customers had been attended to. Now nearing 7pm I had to use the facilities and went back inside, to a yet still sparsely occupied restaurant. Still waiting outside, when the table next to us was offered a table inside and they rejected it, saying they were happy outside, they didn’t offer the table to us. The only thing different was our attire. I was disgusted that they’d not treat all customers the same. We didn’t end up eating there. I wouldn’t want to spend my money there as we weren’t good enough.
