Beautiful British pub, located on the south side of the river. There are outdoor tables on the upstairs terrace and on the ground floor balcony. Inside there are plenty of tables all around the bar. Classic English food, from starters to puddings. As of today you can order using the app on your phone, but be aware that if you make a mistake in the order it will make it a bit hard to cancel or change any item. Service is quick and professional. Book in advance if you want to make sure to get a table.
Stopped by for a last minute Sunday roast and given it was a windy day we were able to get a table on the balcony outside - which wasn't bad as they had a blanket only one though and we were a group of 3 and heating that needs to be activated by touch every so often. Food probs are big. My partner loved the chicken roast and the vegetarian mushroom pie was really nice. The pastry was made fresh that day which was a delightful surprise given I've had some appalling vegan pies from other pubs. The view is really nice and the staff were friendly but it'll take a while for them to circle back to you given how busy it gets so just head up to the counter if you need anything. It is recommended to book a table to guarantee seating inside. Apple cider on tap was great too! Would come back
Nice pub right on the river with outside seating that hangs over the river. You can also sit on the picnic tables on the bank of the river, but be wary of high tide see photo. They have good vegan options, the vegan burger I had was nice but did do much to satiate my admittedly large appetite. The place can get very busy though! Dogs welcome!
A wonderful pub with a welcoming staff who were friendly and professional. Good food and some good beers with a nice wine selection. A great lunch with friends that led into a long afternoon of chat. Definitely worth a visit.
Sadly this gem of a pub needs serious overhaul...... Returned with friends and family for a Sunday Lunch to this beautifully located and elegant pub sat on the River Thames in Barnes. Sat at a table with a broken leg....yes broken and one of my friends told us that it was broken on thier last visit!?!? A visit to the gents bathroom sadly proved the management don't have a grip on their establishment. I don't need to go into details as to how pungent and dirty the toilet was, when I can share an image..... Service was friendly from our waitress but simply terrible from the other members of staff - one of our dishes was wrong when brought to the table - the waiter tried to serve it again, then stood holding it and tried to blame us!?! Then stormed off shaking his head and muttering to us and other staff! Another dish was left sitting getting cold by the dumb waiter the lift - not a person until we had to ask for someone to bring it! To be honest, the food was average - burgers were great, but the nut roast cold and fish pie tiny way too small for the price c/£17. All in all - £200 for a sunday lunch with food and drinks for 8 only 3 drinking wine - its a lot of money when the place was broken, dirty, the food average and the service inconsistent. BUT - it is such a lovely bright place, and has a wonderful buzz of passing customers out for a walk with some beautiful dogs..... PLEASE someone get a grip and turn this gem of a building into a diamond of an place to visit!
Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. Lovely airy pub, beautiful location, good pub food, but most of all exceptional team working here! Everyone of the team we encountered were friendly, polite, and professional! Made our visit truly memorable. Thank you!
I am sad to leave a negative review because this is one of my local pubs however I ordered the vegan burger for £15 and it arrived really burnt and the chips were really undercooked and hard in the middle. I asked for a replacement, which they then sent out without any vegan mayo on it states on menu served with vegan mayo so then I had to wait a while for someone to bring some. By the time I finally had my burger, my fiancé had finished his meal. I’m not sure if they have changed supplier but the vegan burger even when not burnt was pretty grim. The patty’s are worse than even any own brand supermarket vegan burgers. For £15 I would expect a beyond burger patty or moving mountains. Pretty awful value for money. The presentation also left something to be desired. Then they said they would refund it but actually charged us again for the burger instead. I’m sure it was simple mistake but wasn’t helping our fustrating experience. The pub does have a Lovely balcony overlooking the river. The inside is decorated very nicely with comfy seating.
I definitely recommend going here. If you want a nice decently priced pub to go and chill by the river bank and see a sunset over the waters this is the spot. Three stories high, with balcony and front outdoor seating with terrace. Sadly, no pictures for this review as I was too busy being in awe of the view. I bought Neck Oil beer for 6.20 or so, slightly pricey for where it is, but that's London for you.
This pub has one of the best locations in London. Right on the river, gets the evening sun and you watch the sun setting. There’s benches on the riverside and the outside seating really makes the best of the views. The decor is beautiful- classy and tasteful. The reason I’ve given this place only 4/5 is that the two times I’ve eaten here the food was slow to come out. Because it’s such a beautiful pub in a great location it gets really busy and the service can suffer a little bit because of this, on sunny evenings expect to queue at the bar for a while.
Really nice place to eat and drink by the river. Lovely views onto the river and also has a terrace outside. The atmosphere is great along with the bar staff. Good selection of food and well cooked. It's definitely a place to visit both in winter and summer.
