Chris is a most professional and experienced restorer. I am delighted with the restoration work he has done on my oil painting and frame. He took time to explain his restoration process and has brought the painting back to life revealing details that couldn’t be seen before.  I would highly recommend Whistler Studios.

Chris of Whistler studios is one of the finest restorers we have found, a good artistic eye for colour tone and style allows him to breathe new life onto old work, cleaning, repairing restoring and rejuvenating paintings especially oils. We have worked with him on our art collection for more than a decade and couldn't praise him or his work more highly.  Alongside excellent restoration, he also frames in many styles, as well as restretching and repairing old frames. His gesso gilding is superb.

Whistler Studios has accomplished a masterly restoration and reframing of a renowned 19th century oil painting. Chris displays a true and deft artist's appreciation of what needs to be done to restore former glory and a craftsman's skill second to none. Cannot be more highly recommended.

A really outstanding restoration of two family portraits from around 1850. Chris has brought them to life from the grime of over 170 years. He also gave an excellent service in the process.

Chris is a consummate professional. We had approached him with a damaged painting belonging to my mother-in-law, which had huge sentimental value attached to it. The work undertaken by Chris in repairing a nasty cut and also restoring the painting to its former clean health was wonderful and have provided her with a lot of pleasure, for which we are grateful. The price charged was also very reasonable. I would recommend Chris to all reading this review.

Chris has done a wonderful job for me, cleaning and restoring a picture and its frame.  It is an old small oil painting bequeathed to me some years ago, delightful but faded and a bit battered.  Hung in a location which unfortunately caught the sun, the paint started to flake.  Chris was very helpful explaining carefully exactly what ould be achieved.  The colours are now more vibrant, the flaking completely gone, the frame secure and it is even more beautiful.  It has been a pleasure to deal with hik.
