Well the restaurant itself was nice and so are the staff and food. BUT we arrived at 18:45 and we were seated immediately as we had booked the food order was not taken until 19:27 one of my children ordered fish fingers and mash but got veggie finger instead next Wes the sweet also incorrect we got two cookies Instead of one cookie and one Sunday ice cream to get the bill we had to hunt down the staff we got out at 20:45 a long time for the kids
Harvester is a lovely place to go because it has a variety of seating and the staff are always lovely and welcoming no matter which one you go to. This one in particular had nice, clean toilets. I ordered the build your own breakfast and it was quite nice. I absolutely love the guacamole and the hash browns. However, I’ve been to two harvester restaurants so far for breakfast and every time they have had no vegan sausages. They were kind enough to substitute it for vegetable fingers but it’s still quite annoying.
Friendly staff, but I had over a 40 minute wait to even order or be sent up for salad. I had to go find the staff to ask if we could order, then again when the food was wrong, again when we needed cutlery and again when I needed to pay. The kids meal arrived wrong and then so did their desserts and the main meals were all over cooked, bread rolls were nearly uncutable, but my pudding tasted nice. The tables all around us were still dirty and full of plates.
Excellent place to eat. Fantastic salad bar and good food. Have put 4 star because the wait is long, don't go here if you are in a rush, we had to wait ages to get served then get the things we ordered. Don't know if this is usual for here but for us it took too long. Lovely place though, very quaint and relaxed atmosphere.
Excellent service received from Dan today.. Very polite and helpful with our queries. Went above and beyond when our food wasn’t correctly cooked , got it cooked to what we required and was so apologetic for the chefs who didn’t seem bothered . We think Dan would be an excellent Team Leader as has great attitude to his work and to his guests too .
Absolutely appalled at the food. Hardly any salad in the salad bar, just peppers, sweet corn and pasta and even they were nearly empty! No salad dressings, blue cheese dressing and thousand island dressing, all empty. To top it off, when I was eating my salad. Got a hair in my mouth that was in my salad. Told the waiter who said the kitchen staff didn’t have hair nets on that day, how disgusting! Took it to the kitchen to tell them, didn’t get an apology or anything after that. No acknowledgement about the hair found in my food. Then they didn’t have what I wanted on the menu. When the steak came it was uncooked to how we requested so had to be sent back to the kitchen and then they didn’t even give a steak knife to eat it with. Then we ordered dessert and had to wait over half hour for 2 children ice creams. The whole evening out was a disappointment from start to end, won’t be going again. Also was freezing in there, no heating.
Great place for a family dinner, customer service were friendly and helpful all the time. The only but is that we order a steak and it wasn't cook as we asked even when the lovely waitress send it back to the kitchen. But the rest of the food was lovely, beautifully presented and cooked.
Booked well in advance for Christmas day for 6 people, we then added 2 more people to the party in November.. no problems so far. We then got a phone call a week before our booking to confirm we would be coming and to say that we would be in the bar area because they hadn't the room in the restaurant, but not to worry because we would have the same level of service.. also fine. However, we arrived for booking at 12.45pm and left at 5.30.... a long time for 3 courses?! We had absolutely no service other than the food being brought to our table, no even to ask If we would like any drinks etc... I had to go to the bar to sort this out... the wait between meals was excessive to say the least, and we had empty plates on our table after each course for at least 30 minutes or until we asked when the next course would be! Several times members of our party went to the toilet each time surveying the restaurant and seeing nice clean tables and plenty of staff, even the bar lady said it was excessive. To be in a restaurant on Xmas day for nearly 5 hours!!!! To say this ruined our day is an under statement, I didn't want to complain at the time because of the nature of our visit and the occasion, but don't say that we will get the same level of service if you can not accommodate.
we went to our first ever murder mystery event last night and We had the most amazing time surrounding by so many Harding working individuals thanks to Diane and Emma and not to mention the food was amazing so well done to all the kitchen team. We will definitely be returning! I would definitely recommend this to a friend
Not the best start as we were waiting around even though we had booked for 10-15 mins not the best with hungry kids we were only seated as we saw a table and asked to sit there. The server we had was very friendly and accommodating and piled the Ice cream high on my waffle thanks again. The mains were a disappointment, to be honest I would avoid the burgers, the Sirloin was a serviceable steak cooked to medium rare as was asked. Was given an out-of-date sauce was lucky we checked, so the process around this should be reviewed. In summary, they should be a little stricter with the tables that go over time they have a nice bar area where people could be relocated to save standing around at the entrance. The food is okay little pricey now for what you get but everywhere is nowadays.
