Great little sight to see and great for photos of the harbour, you can also get the Abbey in at the right angle. Lots of seating around the area and then the steps take you down to the main harbour area. It's well maintained and interesting historical point
Nice arch overseeing the Whitney Abbey on the opposite hill .
Iconic part of Whitby.nPlenty of seatingnNear by car park reasonable charges
Absolutely love it here the views of Whitby from the whale bones are tremendous. It's nice to either wonder around or sit on the many benches and enjoy the views especially with a nice hot drink from the nearby cafe. Plenty of parking available in the area for a reasonable price. Especially if you're spending the day and heading further into whitby.
Wow what a lovely place to watch world go by. Abbey in distance lovely walling and nice cafe further up path. Only problem is new street lamps far too bright so cant do star watching along sea front. But soo peaceful. T
