I was eager to review one of the seven branches of The Wetherby Whaler, and on this occasion, I chose Pudsey. There is a good-sized private free car park to the rear of the building. The shop is large, with a dedicated chippy takeaway and a spacious restaurant. Everything was tidy, and the customer service was commendable. The packaging was environmentally friendly. I opted for the Whaler Haddock, which was a thick jumbo fillet encased in a dark, crispy batter. The batter had a colour I had never experienced before, but the taste was excellent, as was the haddock. However, the chips were pale, much too firm, and rather bland. The potato scallop was a bit oily beef dripping and, like the Yorkshire fishcake, could have benefitted from being left to drain for a minute or two before packaging. Fantastic proper Yorkshire fish and chips! Great prices, with great service. The "regular" fish portion is really very large. The senior menu here is quite the deal too.Food: 5/5
What an amazing meal I had three courses which is rare for me , as the food was so delicious. Excellent value for money . Would definitely recommend Food: 5/5

Brilliant fish and chips. Prices are creeping up a bit, so I have to go less often. And if you ask nicely you can have a bowl of scraps Food: 5/5
We took my father in law for father's day,on Sunday around 5pm. We did not book and were able to be seated once a table was re set. The waitress came was very good and service was quick. We ordered a senior fish and chips, regular fish and chips, and large fish and chips. Mushy peas and bread and butter sides. As well as 3 teas. Our bill was around £53 The food was piping hot , the batter was crispy and the fish perfectly cooked. We all managed just about to clear our plates, we all enjoyed the food very much. I was also able to order a takeaway meal that was brought to our table. Such a great place to eat for all ages. The toilets were a little dated but were clean and well stocked. There is a wheel chair accessible entrance, and disabled toilets. There was a large party eating with small children, they had access to highchairs , colouring in sheets and crayons , as well as being offered a large basket of toys.
Delicious fish and chips with a great dessert menu too. If you're in or near Pudsey so yourself a favour and dine in at Whalers. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Fantastic dining and highly recommended! Parking: Parking is behind the restaurant.
Always worth a visit when up and around Pudsey.. friendly staff and of course the fantastic Yorkshire fish and chips !Food: 5/5
Lovely food as usual. Generous portions...just getting a bit pricey. Service was great. would still recommend going. always nice and clean.Food: 5/5
Clearly now doing fried goldfish! One of the worst fish I've ever had. Overcooked, thick batter and the tiniest fish you can imagine, overpriced poor quality..last time for me, much better chipies in pudsey!Food: 1/5
