I tried to register my wife at Weston College in Weston-super-Mare, but the staff seemed completely unorganized and unaware of each other’s information. I visited the college four times, and each time I was given a different answer. Once, they even gave me a website address, but it didn’t work. Later, they gave me an appointment for Tuesday at 1:30 PM. We went there on time, but we were told, “Who gave you this appointment? There is no such thing.” I even mentioned the names of some teachers, but the receptionist didn’t know either and had to ask other staff. In the end, they told me ESOL registrations are done at the Locking Road campus. If that was the case, why didn’t they say so from the beginning? I wasted so much time going back and forth at least four times. Very disappointing and unprofessional service.nnOn top of that, I studied at this college myself for two years, and during that time they didn’t actually teach us anything. Instead of teaching English properly, they only focused on preparing us for exams so the school’s overall scores would look better. The teachers themselves are kind, patient, and helpful, but the education was system is completely wrong. People go there without knowing English, hoping to learn it, but instead of teaching useful vocabulary and real English skills, they only push students into exam preparation. This is not real language teaching.
Communication is extremely poor; told to come to a class and no teacher showed up wouldn't reimburse my travel costs, told I needed a laptop on a Friday for a Monday start. Completed a course and have not received any communication since nor a certificate of completion. A complete waste of time.
If i could give any advice, dont come to this college. The communication between teachers are shocking not to mention the amount of teachers that leave within a few months of being employed, leaving u with no tutors who know you well enough to support you. Aswell as this the maths department are shocking!! You get no support and are consistently made to feel on your own for someone who has discalculus i have really struggled and my chances of going to uni are now slim so, save your child the stress..
So friendly, needed some help with enrolment and confusion about signing in. Just walked in and got the assistance i needed from smiling happy staff.
Always good till now.nIf u keep cancelling exams and courses CALL or E MAIL your students!!! Do not waste peoples time driving all the way out there weekly in rush hour to be told come bk nxt wk. Poor behaviour sort yourselves out
