Not one for leaving bad reviews, but these deserve it. Absolutely shocking that try as I might I cant book an appointment to see a doctor, they may as well just lock the doors, because it'd be just as much use to me. I've only left 1 star because there wasn't an option to leave a 0. Been with this surgery all my life and always been lucky with my health so far The only advice I can give to the people of Shipley is, don't become poorly, if you are registered here.
I usually have a good experience at westcliffe and always receive prompt and excellent medical treatment, however I felt my most recent experience here was awful thanks to the receptionist. The receptionist seemed like she did not want to be there and very rudely rolled her eyes back so much I'm sure she would have seen the back of her skull. It was like talking to a teenager and was very unprofessional! I'm sure she wasn't even aware she was doing it. This coupled with the fact I was told I could not have an appointment as I should go to A and E for a small accident I sustained but I reasonably thought a GP check up would have been fine. I was fine and coherent and was able so I didn't understand why I would need to go to A and E as it was not an emergency, I felt this wasted the hospitals precious time and resources. I felt a more personal appointment would have been more beneficial as I did go to a and e and was rushed out and told I wasn't ill enough to be there and only come back if my symptoms get worse. I am still in pain and paracetamol or ibuprofen is not really cutting it. I also called 111 before I went to A and E and they also said to go to A and E but again I am not dying just in pain, they suggested I could need X-rays but that did not happen and felt it was just cautionary. So overall it would have been far simpler to have a GP appointment to be looked over and given some stronger pain killers but seems that common sense is in short supply. I also didn't realize receptionists had doctor's degrees to diagnose/refer on the spot, seems like we don't need GPS at this rate.
Absolutely appalled by the service provided by the NHS these days and especially now you cant get an appointment before you see a pharmacist. 2 weeks iv had a chest infection now and even 111 closed my case without seeing me despite me gasping for breath & crying on the phone!nHowever, get a private appointment and you'll see the same doctor you wanted to see straight away!
If I could leave a 0 I would just taken a friend there she come out in floods of tears left in a room with loud music blasting from a nurse obviously not read any notes on why she was there asked to do a urine sample when the toilet was out of order not sure how that would work? Absolutel wast of time don't know name of the nurse but needs to be struck off
