Best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Great selection of fried foods, fish, and burgers. Also fresh fish platters too available in a separate cool display. Rossi ice cream which my wife loves. Place is very clean, staff are friendly, prices fine. Would go back again and again.
Fantastic place, best on the island or around Colchester. Also does excellent gluten free and dairy free batter and options. Just ask when ordering but they do have a separate fryer. Note, the fish was GF pictured, not the sausage. There can be long lines so I advise you to go early. There are a few tables which, some people sit at whilst waiting for their orders but, I have never had a problem if I show I want to eat inside. Dietary restrictions: Have a separate gluten free fryer. Seem very knowledgeable and haven't been ill once from the food.
It was biggest fries portion ever. Literally we had large to share and 2 of us could not finish 1 portion. Even if we have been pretty hungry. Not expensive, however, it's very simple and basic. Outdated tables and need some decorating throughout. No mirror in the toilet. Customer service was good and quick. Food could be better quality.
Visiting Mersea for the first time, came to the fish bar after a walk along the beach. The staff were great, haddock and skate were fantastic, chips were great too along with some curry sauce. Highly recommend this place, thank you Mersea Island fish bar
Really liked the food. I am not a huge fan of fish and chips,. But it is very good here. The fish is fresh and the chips are well cooked and the service is amazing.. have dine in and toilet facilities as wellFood: 5/5
Sadly i have visited many times and the fish and chips have always been great. Sadly tonight Cod super greasy dripping and lots in carton. Chips tasted awful so left most of our dinner. Wonder if you have changed the oil or potatoes you use? It has now put me off returning. Hope it was just a one off!
Best fish and chips in Colchester hands down. Fresh food served, none of this re-heated rubbish you get from some chip shops in Colchester. Excellent quality food.
So surprising to find whitebait on the menu these days and for such a reasonable price. Portion was so large we had some leftover for when we got home. Will always make an effort to come here after visiting the country park.
Delicious food, the best chip shop chips ive had in ages, you can tell they are fried in proper oil and not that palm oil/frymax stuff. Good social distancing in place and hand sanitiser on entry. We ate ours on the beach and got a seafood platter to take home for tea.
Banging chippy and fresh fish. Made my day the food is fantasticFood: 5/5
