West Malling Group Practice

Ok once you get to see a doctor, but almost impossible to get to see one. The online booking system is amazingly bad, it never has any appointments available, even for routine checkups which could easily be booked weeks in advance. Trying to book in practice is just as bad, they are very apologetic but tell you to try again later in the week, by which time they still have no appointments. Completely overwhelmed by the medical needs of millions of people at Kings Hill, however there are now plans to close the West Malling practice altogether! Totally mad -they should split the practice into two, and offer West Malling the service it used to enjoy.

You are more likely to find a willy wonka golden ticket than obtain an appointment with this lot. Feel sorry for the poor receptionists who have to administer this system.

Their online booking tool never has any appointments for the month you're in, or the next month, at any location, with any doctor. As others have noted, getting through by phone is incredibly difficult so I've been unable to get an appointment that way. I made a complaint a couple of weeks ago, and chased it up, but never had any response. Not even an acknowledgement to say they'll investigate the issues raised! I literally can't get an appointment. It's an absolute joke. I'll be happy to revise this review if things improve.

Always helpful when I have been there and very caring staff. Nursing sisters are superb and always reassuring.

I know that WMGP have had problems with the booking appointments system, but I've recently used the practice twice (with the new system of phone triage) and I've found the service to be great. Last week, I had to arrange for a duty doctor to call, to then send out a home visit for my elderly neighbour and the system worked perfectly. Today, I used the system for myself. I was called back quickly and given a prescription via the phone, which I'm sure saved time for both me and left the appointments at the surgery for people who need to be seen by a doctor. I've been a patient at the surgery for 14 years and have never been unhappy with the actual doctors or nurses, who have always been kind, professional and attentive. I know it has been frustrating getting an appointment in the past but I think that the fact they've recently changed everything shows they are listening to the patient feedback and are doing their best to correct things.
