Nicely presented place. Clean and toilets were clean also. When meal came out it looked great., Unfortunately Beans, bacon and sausage was luke warm and my flat white was made with instant coffee with frothed milk. He did come back and make me a proper coffee with the machine, but unfortunately it wasn't drinkable. Parking: Heaps of parking outside the premises or across the road in the carpark.
Fab, well established, cafe in the heart of Llandovery Town takeaway or dine inside/sat out the front of the cafe or in the spacious, enclosed patio area at the side of the premises. A popular stop off point for bikers. Plentiful menu choices, with a large choice of fresh cakes & trifle. I chose a simple savoury option of cheese on toast washed down with cups of tea!
Half our party ordered, 1 x drovers pasty, 1 x sausage roll, 1 x child's chicken goujons and chips. Other half of party ordered next, 2 x jumbo sausages, 1 x sausage roll. Child's chicken goujons were burnt child's words, they looked like they were cooked and reheated, they were very dry and the coating was rubbery. The chips were fine. The second ordered sausage roll came out as a sausage bap, not what we ordered. The cafe wasn't even busy. Asked for a refund for the child's meal which was given but there was a lot of huffing and puffing behind the wall before telling me the excuse, "we have to cook the goujons ourselves and they have to be to a certain temperature". No kidding they have to be cooked! Seriously? What a ridiculous excuse for very poor food. Haven't been there for a long time and won't be going back. Will continue to travel further up the road 15 min walk, less 2 min car / bike to Owl's Nest where the food is always spot on.
Really nice food and very generous portions
Absolutely terrible luke warm food, meat was dry, roast potato tasted awful fatty cold & price has gone from £5 - £9 ~ £2.95 for a tepid milky coffee. Was really cold in the cafe so if your looking for a nice warm place to go into out of the cold DONT BOTHER. The staff were wrapped up in body warmers, scarves, large cardigans & where we sat was a freezing cold draft & the whole cafe was 11° as far as I could see there is only ONE radiator for the whole dinning area. For the price he charges you'd think he would make the place more inviting & warm. No wonder the place was almost empty
I use to always go to West End cafe as a biker cafe afew years ago but never again. Under new ownership now and food is disgusting and cold. No heating on inside and outside temperature was -2 degrees. Not exactly a warm welcoming atmosphere. Plates that the disgusting tasting food was served on were freezing cold so didn't take long for food to reach same cold temperature as the plates. Complained about the food but the foreign waiter who was serving food in a thick coat with his hood up couldn't understand wot i was saying. Safe to say il never eat or drink at the West End cafe in Llandovery ever again its disgusting and has gone downhill massively.
very nice food, but insanely expensive. total rip off to be honest. sausage, egg, chips & beans and a coke was around £13. as nice as it was, thats just exploitative profiteering.Food: 5/5
Huge cafe and very popular. We went there on Sunday lunchtime and it was packed. Most people were there for Sunday lunch which was obviously somewhere where everyone in the area came to eat. The Sunday lunches looked and smelt beautiful and I would definitely have one there another time. We wanted a cooked breakfast and it was lovely. I'm really fussy about cooked breakfast and really, really enjoyed it. Even with how busy they were they kept up the pace. There are beautiful murals painted on the walls by a Cardiff artist telling stories of local history and fables. As it was so busy I didn't want to bother people by taking photos. There is also a sculpture and Castle within walking distance that I have included photos of. Highly recommend this place
Really great early morning breakfast. Such a change from a couple of years ago when it was bland and chilly. It's worth a detour and be prepared for a Big Boys Breakfast.
Brilliant little place called in there on a wet rainy Sunday morning with being out on off-road bikes had excellent cup of latte and a big chunk of carrot cake outdoor seating at the front of the cafe and at the rear staff very friendly it was a very much needed stop and thoroughly enjoyed it
