My favourite car park in Whitby – close to the town centre, but also along the cliffs for lovely quiet walks. Free before 9am or after 6pm, which makes it a perfect place to stop for the evening to explore the town and its many delights. Not the cheapest sure, but long term parking becomes cheaper and 24hr parking is possible too. Oddly cheaper for coaches to park all day than cars! Takes coins or cards no annoying apps! and even better – out of season before 1st March or after 31st October there’s no charge at all!! Well overlooked and illuminated so you feel pretty confident about your car’s security too.
At the top of the hill. Prices in July 2024. We arrived at, what I assume, school drop off time. Hard to park at this time. No toilets, but the toilets nearby were currently free.
Handy location right at the top of the town, but just 5 minutes into town.nI visited in November so parking was free but even then it was a challenge to find a space!nA few dedicated spaces for electric cars too.nDon’t try and park in the wrong place though as I saw dedicated parking wardens all around town!
Great location for the top end of Whitby above the cliffs. Good few activities for the kids too including crazy golf, bumper boats, trampolines, pedal go karts and motorised go karts. Ice cream shop and beach shop on the top too. 10 minutes walk down to the pier so also well located.
Whitby reggater classic bike and car show plus fun fair and stalls lots to see. Great views of abbey and harbour and boat race.
