Small but relaxing pebble beach just under some cliffs. It was a warm Friday afternoon and we enjoyed relaxing on the beach. It wasn't too busy which was really nice. The car park is £2 for cars, £10 for overnight campers. There is also a nice pub at the entrance of the car park.
Very nice beach but waves were very aggressive. Hardly any crowd on a weekend early October. Parking is £2 which is ok
Lovely spot for walks, fossil hunting, sitting on the beach or campervanning. There's a fish and chips van here now too
Again amazing cliff view with some people fishing , strong wave with pebble stone beach.
I visited here in September 2022. It isn't the prettiest breach in this area but offers a change from the others nearby.
It was a very dirty beach, lots of trash, but the views were very nice. Very interesting rock material, white and soft. Don’t recommend to go out of your way to see this area.
Lumps of concrete, a Jack-up rig on the beach, random catering vans, best of all, no Karen's, kids, wheelchairs and tourist tat. How beaches were in the 80's. Brilliant.
A great place to park up and enjoy the views and spend time on the beach. Camper vans are allowed to stay over the night too.
Spent a day in Newhaven and having trekked the cliffs above, decided to take a closer look at West Beach. Sadly, access onto the pier was strictly off-limits to public as too access to the sandy beach left of the pier when looking out to sea. The other side of the pier is shingle and available. Didn't visit the Beach Shack but that represents the sole outlet for refreshments. Parking was a very reasonable £2. Ruins of a WW2 fortification were in evidence along the cliffs but the entire area was dominated by the presence of the Wavewalker rig that towered over and dwarfed all else.
Needs a handrail on that dodgy bit by the cliffs. My mate tim was installing some warning signs and he fell in the sea. His nose is massive so when he was floating around everyone thought he was a shark.
