** need a parking disc on display**nFree parking with different colour bays for different lengths of parking. White bays 24 hours, blue bays 4 hours and red bays 2 hours. Brilliant that free parking is provided for the town !nIn my local town Yorkshire all the parking is charged at high rates.
It's good to have free parking and are able to visit the town without worrying.
Great big car park with loads of colour coded bays, notice boards say free parking with times you can stay in the colour coded bays. I thought great I'll park .... when I got back to car had a parking fine!!!!! As you need to get a parking permit with a clock on from some shops!!!! Notice board not clear where to get them or how much they are!! Great for a tourist thats spending money in their Town
Parked in a blue bay, 4 hours free if you have the Northumberland parking disc if not they’re a pound in a couple of the local shops.
A local pharmacist called in sick and I travelled from Bishop Auckland to cover for them as the patients of Boots the Chemist Hexham would've otherwise been without their meds children's antibiotics, end of life morphine for the dying, chemotherapy etc..nnI didn't have a parking disc and due to the urgency of the situation, left my car in a blue four-hour bay with the intention of moving it when the urgent dispensing and NHS services were actioned. I arrived at 09:00 and I was fined at 11:35 for having no disc.nnI tried to appeal the fine as I acted in the best interests of the patients at Boots Hexham. My appeal was rejected and Northumberland County Council replied demonstrating absolutely 0% care or compassion for their own taxpayers who require urgent NHS pharmacy services. I was rather shocked and disgusted.
