Absolutely astounding service and quality of food! I had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for £13.50. Everything was of high quality and the amount of delicious, tender roast beef was truly staggering! The service was exceptional and the staff were friendly. If you are in Hawes... Eat here!
We had Roast dinner and steak & ale pie. Prices are on the steep side, and the presentation of the food is not great. As you can see from the picture, it looked like my grandmother cooking rather than a restaurant The taste was OK, but nothing to write home about.
Just the job on a rainy day in The Dales - Apple Pie & Custard plus a Pot of Tea! Certainly lots of choices on the menu and made to order - good value for money! I shall be returning soon!
Loved this place. Visited the Lakes last week and stopped off here to stretch our legs and popped in for a light lunch. Tuna melt and a " real ham " cheese and tomato sandwich. Both excellent. Came with a salad garnish and pickle. Pot of nice strong tea and a fabulous latte best I've had and I'm very fussy about my latte! Nice chilled atmosphere and very friendly staff. Prices are very good for what you get and menu choice is excellent. I'd most definitely come back and fully recommend. Just wish I could have had room for cake as they looked delicious. Large dining area and it was quite full when we went but service was really quick, honestly don't know how the ladies in the kitchen knock out what they do. Really lovely experience. Keep doing what your doing!
Had a great meal from here and went back a few days later for another one...just good honest food at a good price..great range on their menu for everyone
Wish we had more places like this around us, great homely cooked food, great sized portions, friendly service and caters for all ages! Reasonable prices as well!! Hidden gem! If you like fine dining like Mickey Mike obviously does…. a couple of reviews ago this isn’t for you if you love great home cooked food and a friendly non snobby atmosphere, this is perfect! Will definitely return!
Have visited on a number of occasions and never had anything to report. Sunday 11 September was different though. Ordered half portion of roast pork and roast beef dinner. Seemed to take an awful long time from taking the order to actually receiving the meals. The boiled potatoes on both plates could have done with slightly longer cooking. They were edible but just a little undercooked. The last bit of the pork showed the meal been in a microwave as it was dried around the edges. The roast beef was a different story. The Yorkshire Pudding was only lukewarm when the meal arrived. The beef was rather tough and was decidedly gristly which rendered a lot of it inedible. To say we are on Yorkshire the state of the Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding was not what was expected at all. I appreciate that outside factors play a part but the meals are expensive for what you get. Prices have increased recently I think. It hasn't put us off going again but it wasn't as good an experience as usual
The food was tasty. The fact that half portion size was available was a unexpected bonus especially after seeing the full size portions. Choosing the smaller meals left some space for the delicious puddings.Food: 5/5
We popped in here on the off chance and ended up going back again and again. There is a large and varied menu and the food is delicious and you get plenty of it. I’m astounded to find some people claiming it is expensive, I’d love to have this where we live. Keep up the good work.
Not sure how to word this review, except to say the food is... OUTSTANDING!!! We came in for lunch on a recommendation, and I can see why. Not going to say anything further, apart from the staff are also lovely and very efficient. Highly recommended
